### Title: “Kevin Magnussen’s F1 Future in Jeopardy: Veteran Driver Eyes Alternative Championships as 2025 Seats Dwindle
Unemployed F1 veteran explores alternative racing series as opportunities dwindle
As only four seats remain open for the 2025 F1 season, is the clock running out for the nine-season veteran?
Kevin Magnussen has acknowledged that he will look into participating in other racing series to prolong his career, as his opportunities in Formula 1 are becoming limited.
Haas has announced that Magnussen will not be retained after his contract ends this season.
Nico Hulkenberg is set to leave and join Sauber, whereas Haas plans to team up rookie Oliver Bearman with Esteban Ocon from Alpine in 2025.
As a consequence, Magnussen finds himself with limited options, as only a handful of spots are still available on next year's roster.
During the Belgian Grand Prix, he was inquired whether he would contemplate joining the World Endurance Championship or IndyCar once his Formula 1 career concludes.
"Absolutely, all of those options," he replied. It seems that every possibility is being considered in this situation.
"I'll check out the options and decide once I'm there."
"At the moment, I'm involved in Formula 1, and there are still a few spots available for next year. I want to see how those positions get filled before making any further decisions."
The issue is that Magnussen is not considered a strong candidate for any of the open positions.
Andrea Kimi Antonelli is expected to fill the significant opening at Mercedes left by Lewis Hamilton.
There are still three unconfirmed seats remaining, one each for Sauber, Alpine, and Red Bull.
Sauber has brought Hulkenberg on board, but the futures of their present drivers, Valtteri Bottas and Guanyu Zhou, remain uncertain.
Alpine plans to retain Pierre Gasly, while rookie Jack Doohan is a potential candidate to replace Ocon.
Red Bull has Yuki Tsunoda under contract, but the future of Daniel Ricciardo remains unclear. Should Ricciardo fail to impress his team, Liam Lawson is ready to step in.
As a result, Magnussen is likely aware that his time in F1 might be limited.
His top performance this season was finishing eighth in Austria, and he is currently ranked 16th in the standings as of the summer break.
Magnussen is now competing in his ninth full season as a Formula 1 driver.
