On Sunday, Schumacher revealed his relationship status on Instagram by sharing a photo with his boyfriend, Etienne.
Below the original post, he commented: "The most wonderful aspect of life is having the perfect companion with whom you can share everything."
Since that time, the six-time Formula 1 race victor shared another image expressing gratitude to everyone for their encouragement and feedback.
He expressed his gratitude, saying, "Thank you very much for all the congratulations and comments. We are extremely happy and appreciate everyone's kindness."
A representative for the Schumacher family has issued a statement to the German press following the favorable response.
The report highlighted that the reaction left both individuals feeling "overwhelmed."
According to the statement, Ralf and Etienne are astounded by the immense global reaction, which was beyond anyone's expectations.
Schumacher's public revelation makes him the first LGBTQ+ driver in Formula 1 since Mike Buettler and Lella Lombardi.
Ralf, the younger sibling of Michael Schumacher who has won the F1 world championship seven times, stepped away from the sport after the 2007 season.

1997 Formula 1 world champion Jacques Villeneuve expressed that he felt "very happy" for Schumacher.
He expressed his delight by stating, "This is wonderful news for Ralf. I am extremely happy for him and can't fathom how challenging it must have been to bear the burden of keeping such a secret for all those years."
Damon Hill, the 1996 Formula 1 world champion and former teammate of Schumacher at Jordan, shared his reaction to the news on X: "I never really got along with Ralf, but I'm glad to see he's content."
