### Title: “Pressure Mounts on Daniel Ricciardo Following Disappointing Dutch GP Qualifying” — Would you like to read more about the article or need assistance with something else?
Concerns over Daniel Ricciardo's place in Formula 1 have intensified following a lackluster performance in the Dutch Grand Prix qualifying. Ricciardo himself admitted, "I felt I was likely having a bit more difficulty compared to others."
A below-average performance in the qualifying round of the F1 Dutch Grand Prix has increased the pressure on Daniel Ricciardo as he strives to retain his position on the racing team.
Ricciardo began this weekend amidst assertions from Red Bull’s Helmut Marko that Liam Lawson is assured a spot in F1.
Daniel Ricciardo appears to be the most vulnerable, given that he is the only driver from Red Bull or its sister team, RB, who hasn't secured a contract for the 2025 season.
Christian Horner sought to make Red Bull's position on Lawson clear, emphasizing that there was no definite promise of a spot for him in one of their vehicles or those of their affiliate team.
However, Ricciardo continues to face close examination.
He secured the 16th spot in the qualifying round for the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort, finishing three positions behind his teammate Yuki Tsunoda.
“It was certainly challenging out there with the wind and overall difficult conditions,” Ricciardo responded after qualifying.
"During qualifying, it was quite challenging to complete a flawless lap, and I felt that I might have been having a bit more difficulty compared to others."
“Friday night’s setup revealed some promising elements for today. However, we ultimately lacked the necessary speed and remained in a precarious position.
"I found myself skidding through some of the corners, so I had to be more cautious. However, this caution made us slower since I couldn't push as hard as I wanted to, and that's why I felt I couldn't achieve the best lap time."
"Getting eliminated in the first qualifying session isn't ideal before tomorrow's race, especially since the track is narrow and not known for easy overtaking. But we'll see how it goes."
Tsunoda, set to begin the race in 13th position, expressed his disappointment following the qualifying session, stating, "I’m definitely disappointed, it feels like we stepped down quite a lot from FP2."
"I felt satisfied with my lap, but for some reason, we were significantly slower than we had been before."
"I expected us to advance without much difficulty, but we faced significant challenges even in the first qualifying session. Securing the 10th position was quite close, so we need to review and understand what went wrong."
"It's a decent starting position for earning points. The weather has been very unpredictable over the last couple of days, and as we observed in last year's race, anything is possible. I'll give it my all."
Red Bull’s technical director, Jody Egginton, stated, “Both drivers’ initial qualifying laps didn’t meet our anticipated times, but their second attempts showed improvement.”
"By making minor adjustments to the aerodynamic balance and tool settings, we improved the balance of Yuki's car for Q2, allowing him to get more performance from the tires. Despite this improvement and a very strong final lap, we fell short by just over 0.1 seconds in the last corners."
The second quarter was extremely busy, and we'll definitely evaluate whether another adjustment in the same direction could have made a difference, given how crucial every tiny detail is when the qualifying lap times are so tight.
"Considering tomorrow's prospects, the pace during FP2's long run was satisfactory. If we can advance our cars quickly towards those ahead, we should position ourselves at the forefront of the midfield and capitalize on any chances that arise."
