Lineup for the F1 Canadian Grand Prix: Starting Positions Announced
Here’s the starting lineup for the 2024 Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal.
George Russell will begin the race from pole position for Mercedes, with Red Bull's current world champion Max Verstappen starting just behind him.
Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri of McLaren secured the second row on the grid, while Daniel Ricciardo achieved an admirable fifth place starting position.
Fernando Alonso managed to surpass his former title contender Lewis Hamilton to secure sixth place, as the seven-time world champion's strong start in qualifying gradually diminished.
Yuki Tsunoda, Lance Stroll, and Alex Albon round out the top 10 starting positions for their respective teams, Red Bull, Aston Martin, and Williams.
Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz will start from an underwhelming 11th and 12th positions, respectively. Meanwhile, Sergio Perez faces a challenging race as he begins from 16th place after a surprising poor performance in the qualifying round.
Alpine's driver Esteban Ocon is set to begin the race from the very back of the grid due to a five-place penalty he received in Monaco.
