Pecco Bagnaia Battles Neck and Shoulder Pain Ahead of Misano After Aragon MotoGP Crash with Alex Marquez
Pecco Bagnaia "in considerable pain" following Alex Marquez collision at Aragon MotoGP
Francesco Bagnaia has reported experiencing pain in his neck and shoulder after his crash involving Alex Marquez during the Aragon MotoGP.
Francesco Bagnaia has outlined the injuries he sustained following his collision with Alex Marquez during last weekend's Aragon MotoGP.
The duo collided when Marquez veered off course at turn 12 on the 18th lap of the Grand Prix. Initially starting in third, Bagnaia fell to seventh due to a slow start but was steadily climbing back up the ranks and seemed poised to snatch the final podium position from Marquez.
The Italian attempted to capitalize on Marquez's mistake at turn 12 by making a move at turn 13 just a hundred meters later, but the ensuing collision caused both riders to crash out of the race.
Bagnaia experienced a difficult tumble beneath Marquez's bike and subsequently visited the medical center.
In an interview with MotoGP.com following the race in Aragon, Bagnaia mentioned experiencing "pain in my neck," but noted that "it could be much worse, so it’s okay."

In an Instagram story update, Bagnaia mentioned that he was experiencing pain in his left shoulder while discussing the crash.
Bagnaia explained that he seized the opportunity when Alex Marquez went wide to overtake him and also approached the next corner with a broader line, aware of another rider's presence. He expressed regret that things turned out this way, especially given the challenges of the weekend.
"Following another difficult beginning, caused by the challenging conditions at that particular point on the grid, I was making a strong recovery and was significantly faster. At the moment, I'm experiencing considerable pain, especially in my left shoulder, but it appears that nothing is fractured."
"We will strive to be in peak condition for Misano."
As the San Marino Grand Prix approaches this weekend, Bagnaia has just four days to regain his physical condition before the practice sessions start for his home race. This scenario is quite similar to last year when he suffered a crash at the Catalan Grand Prix and showed up at Misano with injuries to his legs.
Despite his injuries, Bagnaia secured third place in both the Sprint and Grand Prix events last year. However, the impact of his crash in Aragon on his performance in Misano will only become apparent once practice begins on Friday morning.
