Mercedes and Red Bull Propose Schumacher and Lawson as Potential Replacements for Logan Sargeant at Williams
Mercedes and Red Bull have proposed substitute drivers to Williams for Logan Sargeant, according to Connor McDonagh's report from Zandvoort.
Williams may have Mick Schumacher or Liam Lawson competing in the Italian Grand Prix, as Mercedes and Red Bull have proposed these drivers as potential substitutes for Logan Sargeant.
According to reports, Sargeant's place in Formula 1 is in jeopardy after he had a significant crash during the last practice session at the Dutch Grand Prix.
His accident during the third practice session caused substantial damage, which impacted Williams' annual budget and affected their newly introduced upgrades.
Consequently, Williams team principal James Vowles is contemplating a mid-season replacement for Sargeant.
Andrea Kimi Antonelli was considered as a potential candidate to prepare him for his anticipated Formula 1 debut with Mercedes next year, but Wolff dismissed this idea on Sunday in Zandvoort.

According to Wolff and Horner, Schumacher and Lawson both have recent experience in Formula 1 and would be available.
During a conversation with media outlets, such as Crash.net, Wolff expressed his enthusiasm for Schumacher to have another opportunity in Formula 1, stating, "the true Mick has yet to be revealed."
He expressed a strong desire for Mick to be given an opportunity, stating that the true Mick has not yet been seen.
"If someone has succeeded in F4, F3, and F2, it's only fair they get a shot in F1. We believe he deserves that opportunity. If he gets the chance with Williams, we would be thrilled. However, the final decision rests with James Vowles."
Red Bull's chief, Christian Horner, is open to the idea of loaning Lawson to another team so he can race in Formula 1 once more.
Lawson is presently the third driver for Red Bull and is anticipating a chance to join VCARB in 2025.
Horner told the media, including Crash.net, at Zandvoort that the decision would depend on specific conditions, but if necessary, they could bring him back swiftly.
"However, if they require a driver for the upcoming weekend, we would definitely consider it. Nevertheless, that is a matter for Williams to address, not us."
