### McLaren vs Red Bull: Zak Brown Claims “Red Bull Are Scared of Max Verstappen” Ahead of Hungarian GP
McLaren reignites verbal clash: "Red Bull fears Max Verstappen"
"It appears that Red Bull is afraid of Max"
Zak Brown from McLaren has claimed that Red Bull is "frightened" of their top driver Max Verstappen.
The allegations leading up to this weekend's F1 Hungarian Grand Prix are set to reignite tensions between the competing frontrunners.
In Austria, a major conflict occurred when Verstappen received a time penalty due to his involvement in an incident that prematurely ended Lando Norris' race.
Andrea Stella, the principal of the McLaren team, strongly criticized Verstappen, implying that past incidents with Lewis Hamilton, where Verstappen faced no consequences, have encouraged him to adopt a more aggressive racing style.
Christian Horner, who is the team principal for Red Bull, rushed to support Verstappen.
Brown expressed to The Independent that Red Bull appears to be intimidated by Max, just before this weekend's event at the Hungaroring.
"We are always upfront with our drivers. If no one informs a driver that his actions were against the rules, he has no reason to believe differently."
"But to hear Christian on the radio explicitly blaming Lando – who is he trying to fool?"
"Everyone is aware of it. The rules are straightforward – you must leave enough space for a car. He did not do that."
"Why did he need to speak up? It seemed completely out of place."
Verstappen and Norris had to mend their once strong friendship following a significant confrontation in their Formula 1 careers.
Norris transitioned from forcefully insisting on an apology to becoming more lenient in his position a week later at Silverstone.
However, without a doubt, Brown’s team has emerged as the most consistent challengers to the reigning Red Bulls this season.
In the last two races, Mercedes claimed victories with George Russell winning in Austria and Lewis Hamilton triumphing at Silverstone. McLaren will be aiming for a strong performance in Hungary to reestablish their position.
