Massive Storm Forces McLaren to Close Motorhome at Hungarian GP; Team Races to Repair Damage
McLaren had to close their motorhome to visitors this weekend in Hungary after a severe storm caused significant damage.
Due to significant damage from a storm, McLaren's motorhome at the Hungarian Grand Prix will remain closed to guests and the media for the entire weekend.
Heavy rainfall struck the Hungaroring on Wednesday, causing significant flooding throughout the F1 paddock.
A heavy downpour accompanied by strong winds inflicted considerable harm on McLaren's paddock headquarters.
Photos and clips shared on social media showcased significant rainfall leading to floods, with an F1 photographer estimating the water depth to be around 20cm.

The roof has been entirely destroyed, leading McLaren to shut its doors to visitors and journalists this weekend.
Crash.net is reporting from the paddock this weekend, and McLaren issued a statement on Thursday saying, “On Wednesday afternoon, while preparing for the Hungarian Grand Prix, the team encountered an unforeseen weather incident that affected the McLaren Team Hub.”
"The team is actively addressing the damage, and as a result, our Team Hub will remain closed to guests and media throughout the Hungarian Grand Prix."

The encouraging update is that the rest of the weekend in Budapest is forecasted to be extremely warm, with temperatures likely to exceed 30 degrees Celsius.
This isn't the first incident this season where McLaren's motorhome has suffered damage due to a fire, as a similar occurrence happened at the Spanish Grand Prix.
Emergency responders and firefighters were dispatched to the Barcelona circuit, leading to the evacuation of its visitors.
A member of the McLaren team was released from the hospital after being admitted as a precaution.
McLaren aims for a trouble-free race weekend after their strategy error cost them a win at Silverstone previously.
