Jorge Martin Triumphs in German MotoGP Sprint as Marc Marquez Stages Stunning Comeback
Jorge Martin clinches victory in the German MotoGP sprint, with Miguel Oliveira finishing in second place, while Marc Marquez stages a remarkable recovery from a P13 grid position.
After starting in 13th place, Marc Marquez quickly advanced by three positions, while Francesco Bagnaia surged from fourth to take the lead.
During the second lap, the reigning world champion faced an instant challenge from the pole position holder, Jorge Martin.
During the third lap, Martin initiated his first maneuver at the first turn and successfully completed the overtake after seven more corners.
Before the third lap concluded, Oliveira made a move on the inside at the last corner, pushing Bagnaia down to third place.
Continuing his advance, Marc Marquez overtook Brad Binder at the last turn.
On the seventh lap, Marquez quickly overtook Raul Fernandez. Meanwhile, Martin, Oliveira, Bagnaia, and Enea Bastianini continued to hold their positions at the front of the race.
During the 10th lap, Marquez fell behind Franco Morbidelli and Maverick Vinales by eight-tenths of a second after narrowly avoiding a front-end crash at the first turn.
Pedro Acosta's chance to advance in the race was dashed with three laps remaining when he veered off into the gravel.
Marquez tried to break into the top six positions but went a bit off track at the first turn during the last lap, giving Vinales an opportunity to slip past him.
Marquez seized his last opportunity at the final turn, executing it flawlessly.
Leading the race, Martin secured a dominant win, with Oliveira and Bagnaia finishing in second and third place, respectively.
