Jack Miller’s Next Move: Exploring Options After KTM Departure in MotoGP Shuffle
What's the future for Jack Miller following his departure from KTM?
What are Jack Miller's plans following his departure from his position at KTM in MotoGP?
On Thursday, it was revealed that Maverick Vinales and Enea Bastianini are set to join the Tech3 team, rounding out KTM's MotoGP roster for 2025. This move indicates that Jack Miller will part ways with the Austrian brand after the current season concludes.
In 2023, the Australian rider made the switch to KTM from Ducati, after first entering MotoGP with Honda in 2015.
Miller's prospects were discussed in a special episode of the Crash.net MotoGP podcast, which followed the announcements of the Vinales-Bastianini agreements.
"KTM is seeing changes with two individuals joining and two, including Jack Miller, departing," Jordan Moreland announced. "It appears Miller's next move could very well be to Honda. Do you think that's a possibility?"
"Pete McLaren, the MotoGP editor, affirmed that this opportunity is definitely on his radar and represents his top shot at securing a factory ride," he said. "Additionally, there have been whispers lately about Jack being in touch with Repsol Honda."
Jack possesses a wealth of expertise. He has a track record of victories and has experience with two leading European motorcycles in MotoGP. This experience would undoubtedly appeal to any of the Japanese makers looking to enhance their development.
Quartararo's teammate at the Yamaha factory squad remains uncertain as well. Meanwhile, Miller's old squad, Pramac, which held him in high regard, is currently engaging in talks with Yamaha too.
I presume that Aki Ajo, who manages Miller, will likely be contacting both of those manufacturers.
"If Jack is open to considering satellite Ducati teams, he has Gresini and Pramac as potential options, assuming they remain with Ducati, especially since both are parting ways with a prominent rider."
Next season, Pedro Acosta will fill the position at the factory KTM team currently held by Miller, as Acosta's present colleague at Tech3, Augusto Fernandez, finds himself without a team.
