Honor Dethrones Samsung as King of Foldable Smartphones in Western Europe: A Triumph in the Second-Largest World Market
Honor surpasses Samsung to become the leader in Western Europe's foldable smartphone market. For the first time, the offshoot of Huawei achieves this feat in Western Europe, which is the second biggest market for foldable phones following China.
Honor, a smartphone company from China, has outperformed Samsung Electronics, becoming the leading manufacturer of foldable devices in Western Europe, as per the information from the industry consulting firm, Counterpoint Research.
Honor, a subsidiary of Huawei Technologies, has emerged as the leader in the second quarter for the first time. The second-biggest market for foldable phones, after China, is Western Europe. This market is a competitive arena for companies like Motorola, Oppo, OnePlus and Google, as detailed in a recent report from Counterpoint.
Honor, the company that introduced its widely appreciated book-like Magic V2 internationally in September of the previous year, experienced an impressive 455% increase in global foldable shipments in the second quarter. This growth was the highest recorded annual rise across all brands, according to the report.
Worldwide, Huawei, Honor's local competitor, retained its position as the top brand for foldable phones for the second quarter in a row, largely due to its robust sales in China, as reported by Counterpoint.
