Guenther Steiner Weighs In on F1 Driver Market: Bottas Likely to Stay at Sauber, Alpine’s Choice Still Up in the Air
Guenther Steiner shares his thoughts on the F1 driver lineup for Sauber and Alpine, with decisions still pending for the 2025 season.
Former Haas Formula 1 team principal, Guenther Steiner, anticipates that Valtteri Bottas will retain his position with Sauber for the upcoming season.
Three teams have not yet confirmed their driver roster for the upcoming year.
Mercedes is likely to choose Andrea Kimi Antonelli to replace Lewis Hamilton.
This results in two available positions at Sauber and Alpine.

Steiner believes that Bottas is the top driver currently accessible.
During an appearance on The Red Flags podcast, Steiner mentioned that he believes Kimi Antonelli is heading to Mercedes.
"Who is heading to Sauber next? I believe they will retain Bottas. Audi should aim to secure the top driver they can find. Similarly, Alpine needs to recruit the best driver available."
Bottas has secured many victories throughout his career. Currently, he is unable to demonstrate this due to the limitations of his car. Nevertheless, he has consistently been a skilled driver. Both Hulkenberg and Bottas are talented competitors.
Steiner is uncertain about which driver Alpine will select, although Jack Doohan is apparently the current frontrunner. “We spoke with Flavio on the grid for RTL, and my colleague questioned Flavio,” he mentioned.
"‘Everyone is competing for that position,’ he stated. ‘Everyone.’ That was his response, so I can only echo what Flavio told me; I don't have a personal view on this matter."
