**Esteban Ocon in Talks with Haas as Alpine Confirms Departure: F1 Driver Market Heats Up**
Esteban Ocon is under serious consideration by a mid-tier Formula 1 team. Reports indicate that discussions between Ocon and Haas are ongoing.
Team principal Ayao Komatsu has confirmed that Esteban Ocon is being considered for a spot on the Haas team for the 2025 F1 season.
Before the Canadian Grand Prix this weekend, Alpine revealed they will "separate" from Ocon after the 2024 season.
In recent weeks, Ocon has been associated with potential moves to Sauber/Audi and Haas as he seeks to confirm his spot for the upcoming season.
It appears that his next decision hinges on Carlos Sainz's actions.
Should Sainz opt to move to Williams, Ocon is reportedly considered Audi's alternative choice to partner with Nico Hulkenberg.
Should Sainz opt for Audi, Ocon might find a spot at Haas, especially as Williams is rumored to be eyeing Valtteri Bottas.
During a speech in Canada on Friday, Komatsu revealed that Ocon is being considered for the team.
“He has extensive experience. He has won races, achieved podium finishes, and accumulated numerous points,” he stated.
"He has collaborated with various teams, gaining significant experience, which is exactly what we need. Despite being just 27 years old, he demonstrates remarkable dedication and a strong work ethic."
"I am in discussions with various current Formula 1 drivers, including both seasoned veterans and some of the younger talents in the sport."
"He’s certainly among the few I am seriously thinking about."
Komatsu anticipates that a decision regarding Haas' driver roster will be reached "in the next few weeks to months."
Komatsu mentioned that it wouldn't be very soon, but also not a long way off. He estimated the timeframe to be within the next few weeks to a few months.
"We are maturing as a team and making strides in our development. It's quite an evolving scenario."
"The blend of talented young individuals and seasoned veterans to guide us should prove to be a thrilling mix."
