Ferrari has confirmed that Enrico Cardile is departing the team, amid speculation of a move to Aston Martin F1.
Ferrari has confirmed that Enrico Cardile is leaving the team, amidst speculation that he's heading to Aston Martin.
Cardile has served as the chassis technical director for Ferrari since joining the Formula 1 team in 2016.
At 49 years of age, there's strong speculation about a potential transfer to Aston Martin, with Lawrence Stroll actively strengthening the team based in Silverstone.
Ferrari leader Frederic Vasseur is set to temporarily take over Cardile's position.
"The Scuderia Ferrari HP team has declared that Enrico Cardile is parting ways with the organization, thus stepping down from his position as the technical director for the chassis area," according to a statement from Ferrari.
Following nearly 20 years of service at Ferrari, Cardile has decided to resign from his position. Consequently, as a temporary arrangement, the team's principal, Frederic Vasseur, will take charge of overseeing the chassis department with immediate effect.
The entire team at Scuderia Ferrari HP expresses their gratitude to Enrico for his dedication and numerous years of service.
Ferrari is gearing up for Lewis Hamilton's entry in 2025.
Ex-Mercedes lead, Loic Serra, takes up the role of head of chassis performance engineering at Ferrari starting in October.
Jerome d’Ambrosio has also transitioned to Ferrari in the capacity of deputy team principal, coming from Mercedes.
Recently, Aston Martin has been associated with several prominent figures, not just Cardile.

Ahead of the British Grand Prix, they've successfully brought on board Andy Cowell, the ex-chief of Mercedes HPP, to their team.
