Edge-of-Your-Seat Drama: Hulkenberg and Tsunoda’s Heart-Stopping Near-Miss at F1 Canadian Grand Prix
Scary close call at the Canadian Grand Prix: "I shut my eyes and prepared myself…"
"It must have been just a few millimeters away – it felt incredibly close."
The frightening close call involving Nico Hulkenberg and Yuki Tsunoda at the F1 Canadian Grand Prix last weekend has been detailed.
Red Bull driver Tsunoda lost control of his car and spun off, skidding across the grass at Turn 8.
The Haas car driven by Hulkenberg was rapidly coming out of Turn 9.
Against the odds, the vehicles avoided colliding with one another.
From Hulkenberg's viewpoint: "I'm simply uncertain…
"I attempted to respond, attempted to halt, and attempted to steer clear of him."
"It was likely just a matter of millimeters – it felt extremely close."
"I had shut my eyes, preparing for the collision, but fortunately, I was able to avoid it."

Hulkenberg ended up in 11th position, just in front of his teammate Kevin Magnussen.
Earlier in the race, they were positioned in fourth and seventh place.
Magnussen's race was delayed due to a sluggish pit stop when he switched to intermediate tires.
Magnussen expressed his frustration, saying, "I don't think we achieved the maximum potential."
"Despite the numerous opportunities presented by the race, we failed to take advantage of them, which is quite disheartening."
"We'll examine it carefully to comprehend it better. At the moment, it's somewhat unclear."
“There were plenty of chances, undoubtedly, but we failed to score any points, so we need to analyze the situation.”
"We experienced a very slow pit stop and another that was moderately slow."
"I believe we switched from full wet tires to intermediate ones too soon, and this forced us to make another stop for intermediates, which seemed avoidable."
"I need to thoroughly investigate it to confirm that my statement is accurate."
"At the start of the race, it seemed like something significant was about to happen, but ultimately, there was no result to show for it."
Hulkenberg commented: "The initial 10 laps went exceptionally smoothly."
"However, it eventually dried up and everything fell apart once more. So, that's how it went."
"We were aware of that possibility—not exactly a risk, but that situation. However, we had a flawless race with no errors."
