David Coulthard has listed his three favorite Red Bull Formula 1 drivers.
David Coulthard became Red Bull’s initial driver when the team joined Formula 1 in 2005, while Vitantonio Liuzzi and Christian Klien alternated as his partners.
Since that time, Red Bull has secured four drivers' championships with Sebastian Vettel, and Max Verstappen is on track to win his fourth championship this year.
Former F1 driver Coulthard, who currently serves as a team ambassador, was queried about his picks for the three greatest drivers in Red Bull's history.
"That's definitely Max, Max, and Max," he joked to Motorsport.
He remarked, "Seb's four world championships are undeniably impressive."
However, when considering the entirety of his career, Seb did not perform as remarkably towards the end as he did during his championship-winning years.
"Consider Michael Schumacher's performance with Mercedes; it wasn't as remarkable as it had been during his time with Ferrari."
"It indicates that everyone progresses at their own pace, but it's clear that Max should be given priority."
"Sebastian holds the second position with his four championship titles."
After his successful stint with Red Bull, Vettel inked a lucrative contract with Ferrari.
However, the German racer could not achieve the same level of success with the renowned Italian carmaker.
Webber ranks higher than Ricciardo
Coulthard chose Mark Webber over Daniel Ricciardo as the third-best driver for Red Bull.
He stated, "Regarding P3, I would place Mark Webber in front of Daniel Ricciardo."
The latter point is somewhat connected to the fact that Webber stood his ground and retorted with, ‘not bad for a No. 2 driver.’
Australian racer Webber criticized Red Bull over the team radio right after securing victory at the 2010 British Grand Prix.
“Not too shabby for a second driver,” he remarked with sarcasm, clearly frustrated by how he was treated in comparison to his teammate Vettel at Silverstone.
Webber spent seven seasons racing with Red Bull, securing third place in the F1 championship three times.
His fellow countryman, Ricciardo, secured third place in the championship twice while racing for Red Bull.
Ricciardo is hoping to rejoin the team next season, but this hinges on whether they lose confidence in Sergio Perez.
