Chinese Tech Giant MiniMax Unveils Video-01, a Text-to-Video Generator Model to Challenge OpenAI’s Sora
MiniMax, a leading AI company in China, has unveiled its text-to-video-creation model, positioning it as a competitor to OpenAI's Sora. The first version of this tool, known as Video-01, closely resembles Sora. Future enhancements are anticipated to grant users the ability to create videos from images.
Video-01 allows a user to input a textual description for generating a video that can last up to six seconds. The entire procedure, from providing the text cue to creating the video, approximately takes two minutes.
At the event, Yan Junjie, the founder and CEO of MiniMax, announced that video-01 is the initial version of the company's video creation tool. According to local news outlets, he highlighted that upcoming enhancements will allow users to create videos from pictures and also edit them.
