China’s AI Pioneer MiniMax Unveils Video-01: A Groundbreaking Text-to-Video Generator, Poised to Rival OpenAI’s Sora
The Chinese AI powerhouse, MiniMax, has unveiled a model capable of converting text into video, poised to compete with OpenAI's Sora. Video-01, their initial version of a tool similar to Sora, plans to incorporate improvements that would allow users to create videos from pictures in the future.
Video-01 allows a user to enter a text description to produce a video that can last up to six seconds. The procedure from providing the text cue to creating a video takes roughly two minutes.
At the event, Yan Junjie, the founder and CEO of MiniMax, announced that video-01 is the company's initial version of their video creation tool. He also highlighted that upcoming enhancements will allow users to create videos from pictures and make edits to these videos, as per reports from local news outlets.
