Brotherly Bonds and Independent Ambitions: The Future of Alex Marquez in MotoGP
Could Marc Marquez impact Alex Marquez’s future in MotoGP?
"Alex is quick enough to secure a MotoGP bike on his own merit," says Marc Marquez.
Marc Marquez asserts that he wouldn't have considered switching to Ducati unless his brother made the move beforehand.
However, he mentioned that Alex Marquez possesses sufficient speed and talent to merit a MotoGP career on his own, without needing any assistance from him.
This season, the brothers are working together as teammates in the Gresini team. However, their partnership is set to conclude in 2025 when Marc transitions to the official Ducati team.
How will Alex be in the year 2025? Is there anything Marc can do to assist
Marc informed AS that it has never been and will never be a part of his business.
"My brother is quick enough to handle a MotoGP bike by himself."
"However, it is indeed because of him that I am part of Gresini and riding a Ducati."
“If he hadn't made that decision, I probably wouldn't have ended up with Gresini riding a Ducati.”
"You notice your brother's achievements and joy, and that positive atmosphere starts to influence you as well."
"There was a year when it appeared he wasn't suited for MotoGP, but the following year he secured pole positions, podium finishes, and even won sprint races…"
"Because of his influence, I joined Gresini and now ride a Ducati. His guidance has set me on the course to eventually join the official team."
"He possesses the necessary speed for a MotoGP bike next year, and with any luck, Gresini might be one of his potential options."
Alex left LCR Honda following a disappointing stint at the end of 2022, joining Gresini a year before his highly regarded brother.
His agreement with Gresini is set to end this year, and there hasn't been much discussion about what comes next for him.
With Marc's transfer to the factory team now confirmed, Alex may soon decide on his own future plans.
In his debut year riding a Ducati, Alex secured two podium finishes in grand prix races.
This season, his highest Sunday finish to date is fourth place in Jerez.
