BMW M2 Racing (2025): Official Teaser at Hockenheim
The car is set to mark its entry into customer motorsport from 2026
With a fresh name, revamped aesthetics, and its initial trial at the notorious "Green Hell," BMW M Motorsport's latest introductory model had a double feature this weekend. The BMW M2 Racing debuted its new look to enthusiasts at the DTM season finale in Hockenheim (GER), situated within the paddock. Concurrently, the vehicle underwent its inaugural race trial on Saturday during the 4-hour endurance race at the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS) on the Nordschleife circuit (GER).
The vehicle is officially referred to as the BMW M2 Racing, as it is constructed using the BMW M2 street model as its foundation. Nonetheless, the BMW M2 Racing undergoes specific alterations to meet the technological and budgetary needs of an entry-level race car. As the development of the racing car, scheduled for deployment starting in 2026, is still in its early stages, there may be changes. Consequently, the technical specifications for the BMW M2 Racing will be disclosed next year.

The initial rigorous trial took place this Saturday, with the car still in its camouflage livery. During the NLS race at the Nürburgring's North Loop, BMW M factory drivers Max Hesse and Jens Klingmann, both from Germany, completed the inaugural laps. The BMW M2 Racing car was fielded by the FK Performance Motorsport Team and successfully navigated the four-hour race without encountering any technical issues.
