Bahrain Confirmed as Host for F1 Pre-Season Testing Ahead of 2025 Season Amid Sustainability Push
Bahrain International Circuit set to host pre-season F1 testing for 2025
The Bahrain International Circuit has been selected to hold the pre-season testing for the 2025 Formula 1 season.
Formula 1 has announced that Bahrain will be the venue for pre-season testing before the start of the 2025 season.
The testing period is scheduled for February 26th to 28th, spanning three days.
In recent seasons, Bahrain has often been used for testing in the sport. However, as next year approaches, there has been some discussion among the teams about whether Sakhir remains the best option or if they should go back to Barcelona.
For the first time since 2019, Australia is set to kick off the F1 season instead of Bahrain, sparking discussions about the optimal testing locations for the teams.
Formula 1 has finally chosen Bahrain.
Although it costs the teams more than Spain, Bahrain is nearer to the initial series of races and ensures warm weather.
Formula 1 announced that, in line with ongoing efforts to achieve sustainability and reach Net Zero emissions by 2030, a large portion of their equipment will stay at the Bahrain International Circuit until the grand prix in April.
