**”Alpine Turmoil: Jack Doohan Tipped to Replace Esteban Ocon at Canadian Grand Prix Amidst Paddock Rumors”**
Speculations are circulating within the paddock about a potential driver who could take Esteban Ocon's place in Canada. "I'm not suggesting that Ocon should be replaced…"
Jack Doohan is being considered as a potential substitute for Esteban Ocon in the upcoming F1 Canadian Grand Prix next weekend.
Alpine's team leader, Bruno Famin, expressed fury over the potential repercussions, which could involve benching Ocon for the upcoming race, following his collision with his teammate in Monaco.
Ocon created a commotion by colliding with Pierre Gasly on the opening lap of the Monaco Grand Prix last weekend.
Tom Clarkson, host of the F1 Nation podcast, mentioned that there are whispers in the paddock suggesting Jack Doohan might make his grand prix debut in Canada.
"People are discussing that."
"On Friday night, Jack performed exceptionally well for the team."
On Friday, he traveled by plane from Nice to the United Kingdom. He heads to Enstone, where he spends time on the simulator adjusting different configurations until 3:30 in the morning.
"He doesn't sleep. He returns to Monaco and is at the racetrack by 9am. Earlier, he was using the simulator in England at 3am."
"That demonstrates dedication. The team has been impressed by this level of commitment."
"I’m not suggesting that Doohan should take Ocon's place."
"However, I believe Jack is making a positive impression on the team. As they consider their driver lineup for 2025, Jack is taking all the right steps to ensure he is a strong candidate."
Doohan, who serves as a reserve driver for the Alpine team, is the offspring of renowned motorcycle racer Mick Doohan. He is currently aspiring to secure his debut full-time position in Formula 1.
Diego Mejia, a journalist from Fox Mexico, responded by saying, "Esteban was overly hopeful. He acknowledged this shortly after exiting the TV area, as noted on social media."
"If you attempt that maneuver on any driver, it's game on. As Senna famously stated, if you stop aiming for an opening, you cease to be a racer."
“Occasionally, drivers interpret that in a very literal way. However, when it's your teammate, you must ensure there's enough space for them.
"This was not the situation with Pierre."
"He drove over the front right tire and nearly overturned from the impact."
Esteban accepted responsibility. Let’s move on and avoid creating any controversy.
Alpine has faced a disastrous 2024 up to this point, highlighted by a significant incident between their drivers in Monaco.
Ocon currently holds the 17th position in the drivers' rankings, trailing just behind Gasly. Interestingly, his participation in next week's event in Montreal is still uncertain.
On Friday, Ocon issued an extensive declaration promising to compete in Canada.
