Alfa Romeo’s Vision 2025: Neue Stelvio Debüts und Elektrifizierungsschritte
Alfa Romeo: A Preview of the 2025 Lineup
The revamped Stelvio is set to premiere on the STLA Large platform
The evolution of Alfa Romeo is well underway and is set to hit a new stride in 2025 with the launch of the completely redesigned Stelvio. This iteration, referred to as "4.0," will represent a significant departure from the existing model of the brand's mid-size SUV.
Alfa Romeo is advancing its range of electric vehicles, having started with the Tonale and continuing with the Junior, which marks the brand's first venture into fully electric models. Speaking of the Tonale, an updated version for the model year 2025 is set to arrive at dealerships next year, with its debut anticipated at the 2024 Paris Motor Show. Let's take a closer look at all the new Alfa Romeo releases expected for the year 2025.
Alfa Romeo Tonale 2025
This isn't a full-fledged facelift but rather a new model year update, highlighting that the anticipated changes for the Alfa Romeo Tonale won't be particularly significant or pronounced. A minor alteration may involve the front end to align it with that of the Junior model. If this happens, the compact SUV could undergo a notable stylistic transformation.
The Alfa Romeo Tonale is an upcoming
In the realm of technology, there's buzz about potential updates including a refreshed infotainment system and, importantly, a revamped lineup of engines that may boast additional horsepower, particularly for the plug-in model. Speculation is also rife about the possibility of a Quadrifoglio variant of the Alfa Romeo Tonale, although this may just be wishful thinking. Clarity on these speculations is expected to emerge at the Paris Motor Show in 2024.
The latest Stelvio model
The much-anticipated Alfa Romeo Stelvio is slated for a mid-year release in 2025. It's expected to showcase a fully redesigned exterior while maintaining the dimensions of the present model. Currently measuring at 4.70 meters, the upcoming SUV may see a slight increase in size.
However, the truly captivating feature will be the platform, specifically the STLA Large. This platform made its first appearance with the new Dodge Charger and is designed to accommodate electric powertrains as well as traditional combustion engines or hybrid systems. In the upcoming Stelvio, only electric powertrains are expected to be used initially, offering power ranges from 350 horsepower to the Quadrifoglio's impressive 1,000 horsepower.

It's possible that internal combustion engines may be introduced at a later stage, albeit not in the way we might expect. According to a report from AlVolante, the upcoming Alfa Romeo Stelvio may employ a compact gasoline engine to recharge its batteries, serving as a range extender.
As mentioned earlier, the STLA Large platform has the capability to incorporate traditional combustion engines. The current Quadrifoglio's V6 2.9 or possibly Maserati's Nettuno V6 might power a variant of the new Stelvio. However, it remains uncertain if this can be aligned with the EU's stricter regulations on fleet consumption.
