Split Decision: Jack Miller to Don Mixed Equipment Brands in 2025 MotoGP Season with Pramac Yamaha

Published

Jack Miller to sport distinctive MotoGP attire combination for 2025

Pramac competitor to endorse dual gear brands this year

In 2025, Pramac Yamaha MotoGP contestant Jack Miller will take to the track donning gear from a mix of different brands, marking an unconventional choice in his racing attire.

Previously, Miller was endorsed by Alpinestars, wearing their gloves, boots, and racing suits, along with his crash helmet.

Nonetheless, upon his transition to Pramac Yamaha, he will be outfitted in Dainese gear, including leathers, gloves, and boots, while continuing to use his Alpinestars helmet.

Pramac's official team apparel is provided by Dainese, as the team has secured a fresh agreement that extends through the end of 2027.

Check out this Instagram post from Crash MotoGP (@crashmotogp_)

"Gino Borsoi, the team leader at Pramac, expressed immense enthusiasm about embarking on this journey with Dainese, a name that stands for innovation, safety, and outstanding quality in the realm of motorsports."

"This signifies a partnership between a legendary MotoGP brand and a team renowned for its MotoGP legacy, a duo poised to elevate both our reputation and standards of excellence."

"As we embark on the endeavor to rival Yamaha in MotoGP and Moto2 races, the backing and safeguarding provided by Dainese will play a vital role in our performance on the circuit."

"This collaboration further solidifies our squad's dedication to excellence and mirrors our mutual principles of commitment and high standards in the sport."

Confronted with the risk of not securing a spot on the racing lineup for the 2025 season, Miller appeared to have no choice regarding the equipment sponsor upon his potential return to Pramac in 2025.

He's not the only prominent figure moving to Dainese in 2025, as KTM test pilot Dani Pedrosa was seen wearing the brand's gear during the Sepang shakedown the previous week.

During his debut season in MotoGP in 2006, Pedrosa was affiliated with Dainese while competing as a factory rider for Honda.

The full lineup of Pramac riders in both MotoGP and Moto2 will be outfitted in Dainese gear.

Marc Marquez Aims to Learn from Bagnaia in Sepang Test as He Preps GP25 for MotoGP Season

Marc Marquez reveals his primary objective for Sepang trials

Marc Marquez set to evaluate GP25 in preseason trials

Marc Marquez has stated that his primary objective during the Sepang MotoGP pre-season test is to gain insights from his Ducati team colleague, Francesco Bagnaia.

Following a successful revival of his previously faltering career with the Gresini team in the previous year, Marquez is set to make a comeback to a factory team position in 2025, joining forces with two-time premier class champion Bagnaia at the official Ducati team.

Throughout the winter, discussions have centered around the possible rift between them. However, Marquez mentions that Bagnaia will continue to be his benchmark during pre-season trials because "he possesses extensive knowledge."

"Absolutely, I'm eager to kick off the pre-season. It's particularly exciting being part of a factory team because when you glance over the schedule, you realize there's a plethora of items to test out, from minor tweaks to major overhauls," he mentioned.

"A significant task awaits us in the Malaysia trial, particularly as we must select the right path, striving to collaborate with Pecco and the entire team to establish the optimal foundation."

"In less than ten days, we're facing a five-day examination period, so it's crucial that we stay concentrated."

Currently, my exposure is limited to just a single trial in Barcelona, and generally, our feedback is quite similar.

"This mattered greatly and simplified the process for the engineers. From then on, Ducati possessed all the necessary resources to attempt to customize the motorcycle for every rider.

"However, when a bicycle is functioning properly, it becomes a reliable tool at your disposal."

"Right now, my goal is to fully grasp what's going on, and to absorb as much as I can from Pecco, given his extensive experience in this team and his deep knowledge of many aspects."

"And from that moment, gradually increase speed on the race course."

Marc Marquez expressed optimism about his condition, stating, "My well-being will improve following the initial race." Throughout his entire MotoGP journey, Bagnaia has remained loyal to Ducati, becoming the brand's most triumphant rider in history based on statistics.

Marquez mentions having minimal interaction with his fresh Ducati squad, yet he notes that the team unveiling in Italy last month offered him a good opportunity to familiarize himself more with his team members.

"Absolutely, I'm feeling good, but I anticipate feeling even better post the initial test and even more so following the first race. This is because I'm in the process of grasping the team's operational methods," he commented on the team's dynamics.

"The work presents some unique challenges, and I'll need to adjust accordingly."

"From that moment, my acquaintance with individuals began to deepen. While in Madonna di Campiglio I became more familiar with the higher-ups, I am now getting to know the technical staff better, particularly Marco Rigamonti, who is set to be my lead engineer."

"Thus, it's crucial from this moment forward to grasp what's necessary for us to achieve speed on the race circuit. That's the primary focus."

Bagnaia and Marquez: United Front for Ducati’s Success Ahead of MotoGP Season Opener

Pecco Bagnaia to Marc Marquez: "We'll collaborate until…"

"Both of us are intelligent and realize the significance of this situation."

Two-time MotoGP world champion Francesco Bagnaia has stated that he plans to collaborate with Marc Marquez up until the season's opening race to prepare the GP25 through testing sessions.

Following the announcement of Marquez joining the official Ducati team as Bagnaia's partner for the 2025 season, the duo has kept a friendly rapport.

Nonetheless, there were significant incidents on the circuit leading up to that moment, particularly their collision at the Portuguese Grand Prix.

Throughout the winter, the conversation has centered around the anticipated rivalry between the duo as they contend for the championship.

Nevertheless, Bagnaia emphasizes that they must collaborate throughout the winter testing phase to ensure the GP25 is in optimal condition before the season's first race in Thailand at the month's end.

"He expressed contentment with maintaining the current package as it stands."

"In my view, our requests in Barcelona mirrored our emotions, indicating we didn't require much variation."

"My approach will remain unchanged, as will his.

"We'll collaborate until the initial race."

"We're a pair of intelligent individuals fully aware of the significance of this occasion."

"Our relationship as teammates is quite typical, and it's essential for it to be that way given that mutual respect is our top priority."

Bagnaia commends Ducati ahead of Sepang

Bagnaia lauds Ducati for their excellent work in implementing the improvements to the GP25 that both riders sought after the Barcelona test in November.

"He added, 'Considering what Marc and I requested, I believe they performed quite well.'"

Reaching an agreement was challenging, as the hybrid bike we evaluated in Barcelona excelled in straight-line performance, yet it fell short in various other aspects.

"I'm fully aware of the effort they put in to bring us joy, and in my opinion, they succeeded."

"Let's meet up tomorrow. There's a whole bunch of activities and tasks awaiting us."

"However, I'm sincerely wishing we avoid any rainfall, as we have three complete days of testing ahead."

Pramac’s Bold Shift: Bringing Ducati’s Winning Mentality to Yamaha’s 2025 MotoGP Challenge

Published

Pramac pledges to instill Ducati's "approach" into Yamaha

"They're highly receptive to our perspective on racing"

Gino Borsoi, the team leader of Pramac, has expressed that his team is transferring the "optimal mindset" from Ducati to Yamaha for the MotoGP initiative set for 2025.

From 2004 until the conclusion of 2024, Pramac operated as a secondary team for Ducati, securing the riders' championship in the previous year with Jorge Martin at the helm.

In recent years, Pramac has forged a strong partnership with the Bologna factory, operating two factory-level motorcycles and playing a crucial role in their development.

Opting not to continue its partnership with Ducati past 2024, it chose to align with Yamaha following Ducati's reversal of its initial choice to elevate Jorge Martin, opting instead for Marc Marquez to partner with Francesco Bagnaia in 2025.

Pramac's leader, Borsoi, has stated that Yamaha is highly receptive to their racing perspective, as they prepare two M1 bikes for riders Jack Miller and Miguel Oliveira.

"Borsoi mentioned to GPOne that within the Yamaha team and its circle, the presence of numerous Italians makes communication smoother."

Communicating and comprehending one another was an effortless task, and their reception towards us was immediately warm; they embraced us, metaphorically speaking, integrating us into their family circle smoothly and without any complications.

"Actually, I have to admit they're really paying attention to our perspective on racing, including our approach to managing the weekend."

"We are available to assist them in any way possible."

"Our mindset is influenced by Ducati, which is currently leading the pack. However, I'm confident that as time progresses, we'll gradually achieve the outcomes Yamaha is worthy of and restore it to its leading position."

After consecutive years in contention for the world championship, Borsoi acknowledges that he's beginning anew with Yamaha in 2025, as the Japanese brand aims to climb the rankings.

Borsoi mentioned, "My background includes a time when I was constantly engaged in battles at the forefront, even prior to my tenure with Pramac."

"Perhaps I've grown too comfortable, yet it also requires a willingness to begin anew, reconstructing the foundation and recognizing the challenge involved in reviving a project such as Yamaha."

"This experience is something that could potentially make me better tomorrow, so I'm quite happy to embrace this challenge, especially since Yamaha has greeted us so warmly."

"They are highly motivated to return to their desired position and are spending substantial amounts of money to achieve this."

"It seems like this is an unprecedented move for Yamaha in terms of financial commitment. They've brought on board a significant number of technical staff and are undertaking numerous innovative projects."

“Therefore, the enthusiasm surrounding this project is palpable, and should we achieve success, it will mark another historic milestone for us, mirroring our previous triumph with Ducati.”

Hamilton Faces Uphill Battle Against Leclerc’s Qualifying Mastery at Ferrari, Experts Weigh In

Published

on

By

Worries arise that Lewis Hamilton might fall short against Charles Leclerc in a crucial aspect.

"Should Hamilton at his best switch to Ferrari, he'd face a stiff challenge from Leclerc."

Lewis Hamilton's chances of overcoming his qualifying downturn this season have left our analysts less than hopeful for his prospects.

In the last two seasons at Mercedes, George Russell has consistently qualified ahead of Hamilton.

Currently with Ferrari, he is teamed up with Charles Leclerc, known for his exceptional speed during Saturday races.

Get the F1 Crash Podcast here

"Connor McDonagh mentioned on the Crash F1 podcast that it's difficult to ignore Leclerc."

"In my opinion, he surpasses George Russell in overall driving ability."

"Hamilton is poised to advance in a new setting with a vehicle that offers greater stability, yet in my view, Leclerc ranks as the grid's runner-up to Max Verstappen in terms of driving skill."

"Should Hamilton at his best move to Ferrari, facing Leclerc would present a significant challenge for him."

Whether Hamilton can improve his performance in qualifying is a key factor. Leclerc is often considered the quickest driver in a single lap, particularly when he's at his best.

Therefore, if Hamilton qualifies in the seventh or eighth position, and Leclerc secures the second or third spot, Hamilton stands no chance!

"Considering the evidence, it's difficult to ignore Leclerc. However, when it comes to Hamilton, it would be a mistake to discount him."

Lewis Larkam noted: "The key uncertainty revolves around Lewis's showing in the qualifying rounds and if he can overcome the downturn he's faced over the last two years when competing against Russell, along with the potential advantage Ferrari's vehicle may provide.

Hamilton faces a significant hurdle, as Charles is considered the quickest in single-lap speed.

"Considering the challenges Lewis faced last year when competing against Russell, who is notably fast in single-lap performance, this year will present his most difficult challenge yet."

At this point in time, it's anticipated that Charles will surpass Hamilton in qualifying rounds – likely throughout the season, but especially in the initial races while Hamilton is getting acclimated.

Hamilton faces the challenge of avoiding the positional discrepancies he experienced with Russell in the previous season, given the highly competitive nature of the field.

"If Charles starts in the lead with Hamilton right behind him, I believe Hamilton will end up surpassing him by the race's end. Up until now, Hamilton's greatest advantage has been his race day performances, despite a slight dip in his qualifying pace."

"When Hamilton and his competitor are near each other on the track, separated by just one or two spots, Hamilton often gains the advantage in competitions."

Marco Bezzecchi Awaits Update on Jorge Martin Amidst a Tumultuous Sepang Test Session

Published

on

By

Marco Bezzecchi stated, “We should hold off until we hear about Jorge.” He added, “Once we receive updates on Jorge, we will be able to determine our next steps.”

During a Wednesday lunch briefing with the media in Sepang, Marco Bezzecchi provided no new updates regarding the status of his Aprilia teammate and current MotoGP champion, Jorge Martin.

Martin was taken to a nearby hospital for additional examinations following a severe highside at Turn 2, marking his second crash of the morning.

An update from Aprilia states that he is currently experiencing pain in his left foot and right hand.

On the first morning of the Official Sepang Test, Martin was among a small group of riders who experienced falls, including two other competitors from the Aprilia team.

The outcome of Martin's test is currently uncertain. Meanwhile, Trackhouse's Raul Fernandez has been diagnosed with a fracture, and newcomer Ai Ogura emerged unscathed from a high-speed crash.

Fabio di Giannantonio from VR46 Ducati and Pedro Acosta from KTM are both believed to have been affected as well.

"I'm not really sure," Bezzecchi responded when questioned about the cause of numerous crashes.

"In Sepang, the only effective tyres for our needs are the soft ones on the rear, but we unfortunately don't have enough of them."

"I only use the medium tire, and having it on the back makes things quite challenging. The traction is minimal."

"I'm not aware of the other riders' crashes, but here's my personal experience while riding."

With Fernandez sidelined due to injury and Martin's participation uncertain for the remainder of the test, could Aprilia be required to modify Bezzecchi's testing schedule?

"I’m not sure. Initially, I’d suggest we hold off on making any decisions regarding Jorge,” the Italian responded.

I just saw that Raul has injured himself.

"We'll hold off until we receive an update on Jorge, after which we'll figure out our next steps. Right now, I'm afraid I don't have any additional information."

Focusing on his own racing endeavors, Bezzecchi, who was ranked 17th fastest at that moment, mentioned that he had tested the newest Aprilia innovations in comparison to the original 'Barcelona' 2025 model.

"We tested the Montmelo specification first, and then I switched to the newer version," he stated.

"I made some adjustments and then decided to revert to the Montmelo specifications. Luckily, we kept that older version handy."

"The introduction of the new components marks a minor advancement. However, it remains too soon to make any significant conclusions. I did notice some encouraging aspects, naturally."

Every adjustment I made showed improvement, yet I require more time on the bike to fully grasp the extent of the advancement from the previous model to the current one.

"However, I instantly sensed an improvement, which is why I decided to keep the new one."

Bezzecchi and Martin initially experienced the RS-GP at Barcelona with a noticeable strong sensation at the front and a lack of stability at the back, and this impression persisted.

Bezzecchi remarked, "This bike is handling differently than the one I rode last year," when talking about the GP23 Ducati. He added, "Naturally, the back of the bike still needs some tweaking."

"We faced this issue previously in Montmelo, with a lot of activity and changes happening, particularly."

"It seems to be a combination of the tires and the bike's electronic systems."

In general, I believe I need to spend more time on the bike to determine whether the issue lies with the tyres or the bike itself. Right now, it seems to be a combination of both.

He mentioned, "When it comes to braking, I immediately felt really confident. I'm braking hard and I'm pleased about it because I lost some of this aspect of my riding last year."

"As soon as I got on the bike, I noticed excellent stability in the front, which enabled me to apply the brakes with considerable force."

"We need to focus on improving everything else. Specifically, we have to address the aerodynamics and electronics, as the latter is particularly crucial."

Are you satisfied with the engine's performance?

"Certainly, having power is beneficial."

How does it stack up against the one you rode a few months back?

"Two motorcycles from Italy… Italians excel at crafting engines!"

Valentino Rossi Reminisces on Famed Encounter with Michael Schumacher During Ferrari Test Days

Published

on

By

Valentino Rossi recounts a memorable interaction with Michael Schumacher in the Ferrari pit.

MotoGP icon Valentino Rossi has reminisced about a time he met Michael Schumacher while doing test drives for Ferrari in the mid-2000s.

The nine-time Motorbike champion has repeatedly tested Formula 1 equipment throughout the years.

His most notorious race with the Scuderia took place in Valencia in 2006.

The Italian's display was so remarkable that it sparked ideas of him possibly transitioning from MotoGP to F1.

Rossi continued competing in MotoGP, securing an additional two championships in the following years.

During a conversation with the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera, Rossi shared his experience of meeting Schumacher, revealing he was extremely anxious before the meeting.

Rossi disclosed his support for Jacques Villeneuve, presumably during the 1997 Formula 1 season, as the Canadian was in a direct competition with Schumacher for the championship.

"He shared that he holds cherished memories of Schumi."

People were aware that, in the past, I had placed a wager on Jacques Villeneuve, thus effectively betting against him.

Therefore, as we ended up in the garage, I felt somewhat uneasy.

"Now when he gazes my way, he probably sees me as a fool… But contrary to that, he was incredibly gracious, offering me plenty of guidance. Truly a wonderful person."

Rossi experienced multiple Ferrari F1 test drives, primarily out of passion rather than any serious intent to transition from motorcycles.

In 2004, he had his initial encounter with Formula 1 equipment and even donned an extra helmet that belonged to Schumacher.

A year after his previous outing, Rossi was given another opportunity to test his skills, this occasion being a trial run at Fiorano.

Nonetheless, his performance in the 2006 trial stood out remarkably, prompting Ferrari President Luca di Montezemelo to propose that, should regulations permit, Rossi would be given the opportunity to race in a third car for the team.

In the 2006 event held at Valencia, Rossi finished with a lap time only 0.7 seconds slower than Schumacher, although there are some nuances to consider.

Rossi was behind the wheel of an adjusted 2004 model car equipped with a less powerful V10 engine, while Schumacher piloted the latest F248F1 (2006) vehicle that featured a V8 engine.

Rossi continued to captivate Ferrari, with later assertions that he had the potential to race in F1.

One option involved starting off by racing with the smaller team Minardi to accumulate experience prior to progressing up the ranks to join Ferrari.

In 2008, Rossi was given another opportunity to conduct a test drive for Ferrari, taking the wheel of the vehicle that had come close to winning the F1 drivers’ championship, ultimately losing to Lewis Hamilton.

On this occasion, it served as an opportunity to honor the achievements of both a companion and their group.

F1 2025 Race Schedule Released: The Start Times for Each Grand Prix

The unveiling of the start times for every Grand Prix in the F1 2025 season.

The FIA, which oversees Formula 1, has announced the official start times for all the races in the 2025 season.

The FIA has announced the schedule for all the sessions of the forthcoming 24-race Formula 1 season, a little more than a month ahead of the first race, the Australian Grand Prix, which is set for March 16.

A significant adjustment has been made to the schedule of the Las Vegas Grand Prix this year, moving it up by two hours due to scheduling concerns.

The schedules for the majority of the other races stayed the same.

The inaugural races of the Las Vegas Grand Prix kicked off at 10pm local time, corresponding to 6am in the UK, for the initial two years of its agreement.

Following raised worries regarding the event's timing and the effect of jet lag on F1 staff, alterations have been implemented for 2025.

The qualifying rounds and the race are now scheduled for 8pm (4am UK time) on both Friday and Saturday.

"The modification is a result of observations, input, and knowledge gained from the initial two races, aiming to broaden the chances for enthusiasts to discover the location while increasing interactions with a wider fan base throughout the US," said a declaration from the Las Vegas event planners.

For enthusiasts of Formula 1 in the UK, the British Grand Prix taking place at Silverstone is scheduled to begin at 3pm.

Ferrari has unveiled the latest team attire that Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc will sport throughout the 2025 Formula 1 campaign.

On Tuesday, Ferrari unveiled their latest team attire that drivers Hamilton and Leclerc will sport during the forthcoming season at the circuit, aside from their racing gear.

This follows Ferrari's unveiling of their 2025 racing suits last week.

Hamilton and Leclerc, now team members, once more took part in a photo shoot wearing their team's gear, which is designed by Puma.

The modern design showcases the latest Ferrari sponsor, UniCredit, a collaboration that was unveiled at the beginning of the year.

In 2025, the formidable duo of Hamilton, who has clinched the world championship seven times, and Leclerc, with eight grand prix victories under his belt, is set to be one of the most competitive pairings in the racing lineup.

Hamilton is preparing for his first season with Ferrari following a high-profile move from his previous team, Mercedes, in Formula 1.

Over the last two weeks, the duo has participated in confidential trials for Ferrari, operating a 2023 vehicle at both Fiorano and Barcelona.

Hamilton and Leclerc are set to take turns behind the wheel of an updated 2024 Ferrari during a Pirelli 2026 tyre evaluation scheduled for February 4-5 at the circuit hosting the Spanish Grand Prix.

Inside the Pit Lane: Liam Lawson Teams Up with Richard Wood for 2025 F1 Debut at Red Bull

Unveiled: The Race Engineer for Liam Lawson at Red Bull in 2025 F1 Season Announced

The individual who will serve as Liam Lawson's race engineer during his debut F1 season with Red Bull has now been officially confirmed.

Liam Lawson's debut season in F1 with Red Bull will see him paired with a newly appointed race engineer.

In 2025, Richard Wood will serve as the guiding voice for Lawson during his inaugural racing season with the senior Red Bull team.

Sergio Perez previously worked with a performance engineer named Wood. He's seasoned in the position, stepping in for Perez's usual race engineer, Hugh Bird, during his paternity leave the previous year.

Lawson has advanced to Red Bull, following his participation in 11 Grand Prix races across two seasons with the affiliated team Racing Bulls. He was chosen for the promotion ahead of his ex-teammate Yuki Tsunoda.

The 22-year-old individual from New Zealand was chosen by Red Bull to take over Perez's position after the Mexican had a disappointing 2024 season.

Red Bull dropped to third in the team standings, primarily because Perez didn't perform as well as his teammate Max Verstappen, who secured his fourth consecutive championship title.

Gianpiero Lambiase is set to continue as Verstappen's race engineer while also embracing an expanded position as the head of racing.

This is a component of Red Bull's organizational overhaul following Jonathan Wheatley stepping down from his role as sporting director.

Wheatley, departing to take up the role of team principal at Sauber starting April 1, 2025, will not have a direct successor at Red Bull.

Christian Horner, the team principal for Red Bull, has emphasized the need to avoid overwhelming Lawson with pressure as he approaches his debut season with the squad.

Horner mentioned that Red Bull plans to gradually introduce Lawson, who faces the formidable challenge of competing against Verstappen, a four-time world champion.

"Horner mentioned at the Autosport Awards that they have made a significant effort to avoid putting any pressure on him up to this point, allowing him to gradually adjust."

"Currently, he's in the United States. He's scheduled to return to the simulator next week. So far, he's performing well, and we're making efforts to introduce him to the process smoothly."

Hamilton’s Ferrari Challenge: Navigating Early Team Dynamics and the Pursuit of an Eighth World Title

Lewis Hamilton faces a potential challenge with Ferrari's team dynamics

Lewis Hamilton has received advice that it's crucial for him to quickly adapt to his role within the Ferrari F1 team.

It is said that Lewis Hamilton will face instant pressure to quickly excel as he begins his tenure with Ferrari in Formula 1.

The seven-time world champion has made a headline-grabbing move to Ferrari for the 2025 season, leaving Mercedes after a 12-year stint with the team. The F1 community has been abuzz since Hamilton's transfer was revealed a year ago, and with his Ferrari debut just a month away, the sense of excitement and anticipation is growing.

Presently, Hamilton is experiencing a favorable beginning phase with Ferrari, yet Italian media indicate that he faces immediate expectations to match the performance of his new colleague, Charles Leclerc, right from the start.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Fred Vasseur, the team principal of Ferrari, might be prepared to enforce team orders soon to help the Scuderia secure their first world title in 16 years.

Having narrowly lost the constructors' championship to McLaren by a mere 14 points last season, Ferrari is resolute in their ambition to secure their first world title since 2008 in this year's competition.

According to a recent analysis from La Gazzetta, the initial competitions of 2025 are projected to be crucial in setting up a fresh pecking order within the team.

"The report states that either of the drivers could take the lead position, and their performance outcomes will determine which one will be the key contender for the world championship title."

Hamilton's entry, marked by his expertise, magnetic personality, and seven titles, has shifted the dynamics from the period when Carlos Sainz, who was more similar in age, esteem, and "rank" to Leclerc, was present.

"Leclerc, who now won't automatically assume the position of Ferrari's team leader, will instead have to prove his worth on the track."

"Thus, beginning strongly is key for both Hamilton and Leclerc, who are optimistic about the new Ferrari's ability to compete with McLaren, Red Bull, and Mercedes."

The report ends with the suggestion that Vasseur might have to decide early in the championship which driver to support fully.

"Zero tolerance" for Hamilton

Sky Sports F1 expert and color commentator Martin Brundle believes Hamilton must quickly find his pace, ideally within "two or three races".

"Brundle mentioned on Sky Sports News that it's essential for him to leverage his experience."

"At this stage, everyone, including newcomers, is expected to perform without exceptions. However, one might consider giving newcomers a grace period of up to half a season to fully adjust.

"Truthfully, it's anticipated that someone of Lewis's caliber would have mastered both his interactions with his team and his control of the vehicle in just two or three races."

Brundle emphasized that one should always regard Hamilton with high respect and is confident that the 40-year-old British driver possesses the necessary skills to secure an unprecedented eighth world championship with Ferrari.

"Brundle emphasized that if Ferrari provides a car capable of winning races or securing the championship, then Lewis has the potential to triumph in races and possibly clinch the championship."

"I believe the pace exists. Regarding whether Lewis Hamilton's prime years are still to come or have already passed, my belief is that they are in the past."

"I believe age has dulled him slightly, which is natural. Now, he might find himself in tussles he previously would have navigated successfully, but doesn't manage to anymore, or he may slip up during qualifying. However, I still reckon that Lewis Hamilton operating at 96-97% of his capacity in a competitive vehicle is more than capable of securing victories."

Las Vegas Grand Prix Time Shift: A Strategic Move That Leaves UK Fans Wanting

Published

on

By

The decision to move the start time of the Las Vegas Grand Prix up by two hours is a sensible one, despite it being unfavorable for fans in the UK.

The beginning of the F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix in 2025 has been moved up by two hours.

This spells trouble for fans in the UK and Europe, who will have to wake up significantly earlier to watch the events happening in Vegas.

The latest Formula 1 race to be introduced in the United States is now scheduled to start at 8pm local time on Saturday, November 22. Consequently, for those watching from the UK, the race will commence at 4am on Sunday.

Similarly, the qualifying round is set to commence at 8pm local time on Friday evening, which corresponds to 4am on Saturday morning for those in the UK

The initial track sessions on Friday and Saturday, known as FP1 and FP3, are scheduled to begin at 12:30 am UK time.

In a statement released by the organizers of the Las Vegas race, they clarified that the change was made in response to feedback and lessons learned from the initial two races. The goal is to enhance the experience for spectators, allowing them more time to discover what the location has to offer and to attract a broader audience within the United States.

The announcement may prompt sighs of disappointment among Formula 1 enthusiasts in the UK, who will inevitably find themselves short on sleep after staying up late to catch the action. Nonetheless, the decision makes sense for a variety of reasons.

A strategic decision for Formula 1

To begin with, the competition has been rescheduled to a more favorable time for audiences across the United States – a crucial aspect for Liberty Media, the American proprietor of F1, to take into account.

Red Bull's team leader, Christian Horner, had raised alarms over the timeline since the very first event.

"Initially, it's evident that there are numerous takeaways," he mentioned in 2023. "An aspect that demands attention is the hectic schedule, which has been extremely taxing for the team and everyone involved behind the scenes."

"Everyone is departing Las Vegas a bit worse for wear! In one way or another, it's been a tough weekend for those working behind the scenes, and I believe it's crucial we consider ways to better this situation moving forward."

Horner further suggested: "Perhaps scheduling it a bit earlier in the evening would be wise since it's impossible to fully satisfy every TV viewer.

"This is a race held in America. Holding it at 8pm or around that time would make it somewhat more bearable for the individuals working in the background."

An adjustment has been implemented for Las Vegas' comeback in 2024. The Friday and Saturday sessions have been advanced by two hours, improving the experience for attendees.

However, the remedy was far from ideal, as team personnel and racers struggled with jet lag while tackling a harsh triple-header at the year's end that included races in Qatar and Abu Dhabi.

Previous year's champion, George Russell, notably grabbed a quick snooze before securing the top starting spot and elaborated on the unique challenge presented by Vegas.

"He highlighted the significant strain on the body due to the drastic change from Europe. Moreover, he mentioned the necessity to adjust again upon their return to Qatar the following week."

"Securing a full eight hours of rest is challenging when your schedule is irregular. For me, it's about catching sleep whenever possible. Thus, I grabbed a nap prior to the qualifying round. I woke up feeling somewhat groggy but managed to get myself into top form by the end of the qualifying session. It's quite tough, yet we're all facing the same situation."

Vegas is set to initiate Formula 1's most challenging trio of consecutive races once more, with the anticipation that moving the sessions to an earlier time will enhance the experience.
