Williams Racing on the Brink of Securing Atlassian as Title Sponsor for F1 2025 Season
Williams reportedly close to clinching title sponsorship deal for F1 2025?
It's reported that Williams is close to finalizing a deal for a title sponsorship in the 2025 Formula 1 season.
Williams is said to be nearing a major sponsorship agreement for their F1 team with an Australian tech firm worth several billion dollars.
According to SportBusiness, Williams is reportedly on the verge of finalizing a deal with Atlassian to become their new title sponsor for the 2025 Formula 1 season.
Atlassian is the company responsible for creating the project management software known as Jira.
This represents the most recent endorsement Williams has secured, following their partnership announcement with Santander in December.
The bank from Spain has transitioned its support from Carlos Sainz's previous team, Ferrari, to
Securing Sainz, who has clinched four grand prix victories, represents a significant triumph for Williams.
Sainz has moved to Williams, joining forces with Alex Albon, following his departure from Ferrari which resulted in his seat being taken by the seven-time world champion, Lewis Hamilton.
Last season, Williams secured the ninth position in the constructors' championship, accumulating a total of 17 points.
Team leader James Vowles believes that bringing Sainz on board will aid their efforts to climb the rankings in the future seasons.
"Vowles mentioned to Autosport at the Autosport Awards earlier this week that he's thoroughly enjoying it,"
The instant he hopped into the car in Abu Dhabi, you could tell his focus shifted. This place, this activity, is exactly where his passion lies, contributing to our journey of achievements. He's seamlessly integrating into our team.
"He possesses an exceptional character, contributing not just a history of race victories but also a fervent aspiration and determination for Williams to thrive."
Vowles added, "The efforts he brings, just like Alex, are crucial in propelling the team ahead. We've reached a stage where the focus is on refining minutiae to shave off milliseconds instead of tackling the larger, more noticeable aspects."
"In just a short period of a few weeks, there's been a noticeable surge in enthusiasm and forward-thinking, stemming from new ideas and concepts on how we can evolve and progress."
Williams is scheduled to reveal their 2025 Formula 1 vehicle on February 14th next week at Silverstone, the iconic venue of the British Grand Prix.

Sergio Perez Tipped as Cadillac’s Key Asset for 2026 F1 Debut by Former Haas Boss Steiner
Guenther Steiner points out a dismissed Formula 1 driver who might significantly benefit Cadillac
"He consistently exceeded expectations despite being the underdog. The stress from being in a leading team overwhelmed him."
Ex-Haas F1 leader Guenther Steiner views Sergio Perez as an excellent choice for Cadillac in 2026, remarking "he could offer significant assistance".
Cadillac is slated to enter Formula 1 as the eleventh team in 2026.
Graeme Lowdon has been officially announced as the team principal, and they'll utilize Ferrari engines through to the decade's conclusion while General Motors develops its proprietary power unit.
When it comes to vehicle operators, Cadillac offers a variety of excellent choices for the year 202
Perez will be leaving his current team after Red Bull opted to replace him with Liam Lawson.
Valtteri Bottas remains on the market following his failure to secure the Sauber position, alongside Zhou Guanyu.
In a discussion with GP Blog, Steiner clarified the reasons behind Perez being a logical choice.
"According to Steiner, if you're part of Cadillac, having someone with a wealth of experience is crucial. Given Checo's extensive background with numerous teams over the years, he's well-versed in the field. He would be a significant asset," Steiner remarked.
"Perhaps consider offering him a one-year deal. It's much more advantageous than including aging newcomers. Such a move could present a chance for Checo."
Perez "exceeded expectations in an unlikely role"
Despite a largely unfruitful period with Red Bull, Perez had previously established himself as the top performer among Formula 1's middle-tier teams.
The Mexican frequently outdid expectations by securing several podium positions, even when driving cars considered to be in the midfield tier.
Before signing with Red Bull, Perez was highly regarded, having secured a victory at the 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix.
Considering the way Alex Albon and Pierre Gasly's careers rebounded after their departures from Red Bull, a similar turnaround could be in store for Perez.
Steiner continued, “Hold on a second. I’m not trying to be skeptical. Last year, he was leading the pack.
"It's important to stay grounded in reality. Struggling to earn a single point due to the limitations of the car is one scenario, but it's an entirely different mental game when you're battling for that same point while your teammate, who has the exact same vehicle, is out there clinching race victories. The pressure in such situations is of a completely different nature."
Checo performed impressively during his tenure with Force India Racing, regardless of its name at the time, which was also known as Racing Point.
"He consistently exceeded expectations when viewed as an underdog. However, he struggled with the high demands of being on a leading team. Perhaps, being in an environment without the intense pressure to prove his worth through victories and making a statement, is where he finds his optimal performance zone."

Eddie Jordan Courageously Battles Aggressive Cancer with Optimism and a Call to Action for Early Testing
Eddie Jordan provides an update on his fight against cancer
Eddie Jordan offers an update on his health as he confronts cancer.
Renowned Formula 1 team leader Eddie Jordan has disclosed that he is receiving chemotherapy after being diagnosed with prostate and bladder cancer.
Towards the close of 2024, Jordan disclosed during an appearance on the Formula for Success podcast that he was confronting a severe type of cancer, which had extended to his pelvis and spine.
Eddie Jordan, renowned for leading the Jordan Grand Prix Formula 1 team from 1991 to 2005, persists in his struggle against it.
The man from Ireland is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatments while he stays in South Africa during the winter season.
In the most recent episode of the Formula for Success podcast, Jordan shared an update regarding his health status. He mentioned, "Currently, I'm undergoing chemotherapy. Coincidentally, my treatment falls on the same day as this recording, but thankfully, I'm holding up well."
"I want to emphasize to everyone, both men and women, there's no need for fear. Make the decision to go for a screening. That's all I'll say on the matter. I don't wish to sound like a broken record repeating itself. The truth is, survival rates are remarkably high. Globally, the access to excellent healthcare is incredibly promising."
"The chemotherapy process appears to be well-coordinated. Cape Town has been outstanding. So far, I've undergone four chemo sessions."
"A different strategy might be necessary since there's always uncertainty about whether the issue has been fully resolved. It's possible that an additional one or two attempts might be needed. No one wishes for their closest companion to undergo chemotherapy, given its harsh nature, but the prospect and future remain positive. Blessings to the medical professionals for their work."
Jordan, who is battling cancer, has been dedicating a significant amount of time to be with Adrian Newey.
Jordan, who manages Newey, is currently taking a break alongside the Formula 1 design expert in South Africa, as Newey is on gardening leave ahead of his upcoming venture with Aston Martin.
"His brief vacation, his short period of gardening leave, is quickly approaching its end," Jordan stated.
"He's currently in Cape Town alongside me. We plan to have breakfast together tomorrow before his departure [to start his journey with Aston Martin]. He often spends a considerable amount of time over here. Amanda, Newey's spouse, hails from South Africa."
"They own several properties and appreciate their moments spent in this location. Occasionally, they arrange for their pets to be brought here."

Ferrari’s Stand-In Strategy: History, Reserve Drivers, and the Unexpected Call to the Cockpit
Historical evidence suggests Ferrari's response to an emergency F1 replacement requirement
While Zhou Guanyu and Antonio Giovinazzi serve as Ferrari's designated backups, it's improbable that they will compete for the squad, according to Lewis Larkam.
Zhou Guanyu and Antonio Giovinazzi were recently confirmed as Ferrari's backup drivers for the 2025 season, though chances are slim that either will compete for the F1 squad.
Backup drivers play a vital role within an F1 squad. They often engage in simulator tasks to support the racing crew throughout grand prix events and undertake specific test responsibilities throughout the year.
Significantly, they are prepared to serve as a substitute for a team in case one of their primary drivers is unable to compete. This situation is not as unusual as it might appear, with numerous examples in the past few seasons demonstrating this.
On Wednesday, it was announced that the former Sauber driver Zhou has been appointed as one of the two backup drivers for Ferrari. However, this appointment doesn't guarantee that either of the reserves will get the chance to compete in the famed red racing suits.
Zhou has successfully stepped into the role of Ferrari's backup driver for the 2025 season, taking over from Oliver Bearman who has transitioned to a permanent position at Haas.
Excited to announce Zhou Guanyu's return to the Ferrari fold, teaming up with Antonio Giovinazzi as our designated reserve driver! Zhou, a former member of the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy between 2015 and 2018, will share the role of reserve driver with Antonio throughout the 2025 season.
Though Bearman is not currently serving as Ferrari's designated backup driver, it's probable that the team would consider him as a replacement should an unexpected need arise for someone to fill in for either Lewis Hamilton or Charles Leclerc.
Indeed, Bearman had previously stepped into a similar role on short notice in Saudi Arabia the previous year, filling in for Carlos Sainz who was sidelined due to an appendicitis attack.
At the age of 18, Bearman made history as the youngest British driver to compete in an F1 race. Starting in the 11th spot, he impressively ended the race in seventh place, outperforming the seven-time world champion, Hamilton.
Bearman earned points for Haas during his exceptional stand-in performance in Azerbaijan, filling in for Kevin Magnussen who was sidelined due to a race suspension.
Considering Ferrari is already familiar with Bearman's capabilities and regards him as a potential future asset for the squad, it seems logical that he would be the favored option. Haas, given their tight technical partnership with Ferrari and considering Bearman is essentially being lent to them, would probably accommodate this preference.
Under these circumstances, Ferrari would offer either Zhou or Giovinazzi to Haas, who might also consider enlisting Magnussen—assuming he is not tied up with sportscar obligations—or Pietro Fittipaldi, who has previously filled in for the American team on two occasions.
This wouldn't be the inaugural instance of this scenario occurring.
In 2020, during the Bahrain Grand Prix, Hamilton had to step down due to a COVID-19 positive test result, leading Mercedes to recruit George Russell from Williams as his substitute.
At the time, Russell wasn't serving as an official backup driver for Mercedes, and the agreement between the two teams resembled the partnership Ferrari and Haas had with Bearman.
During that event, Williams chose to substitute Russell with their backup driver, Jack Aitken, following an agreement reached between both sides overnight.
It wouldn't be unexpected for Ferrari to opt for Bearman as a quick replacement if the situation calls for it.

Toto Wolff’s Cautious Outlook: Mercedes’ Hopes for F1 2025 Amid Performance Fluctuations
Toto Wolff is opting for silence regarding Mercedes' prospects in the 2025 Formula 1 season
Mercedes' leader Toto Wolff is taking a careful stance when discussing his team's potential success in the 2025 F1 season.
Toto Wolff prefers to remain tight-lipped regarding Mercedes' prospects as the 2025 Formula 1 season approaches.
Mercedes aims for a steadier competition in 2025 following a disappointing season last year.
Despite clinching victories in four races, the Silver Arrows team faced confusion due to fluctuating performances from their W15 contender, ultimately securing fourth place in the constructors' standings.
Currently, in the era following Lewis Hamilton's tenure, with George Russell teaming up with the promising young star Andrea Kimi Antonelli, team principal Wolff is eager to downplay any hype surrounding Mercedes.
Rather, Wolff prefers to observe the performance of the team's W16 vehicle during the pre-season trials in Bahrain, scheduled for the end of this month.
"Wolff has been cited by RacingNews365, expressing that finding the optimal performance level for these cars is a complex challenge, achieved only a handful of times."
"In Las Vegas, we completely overpowered the competition, securing the top two spots. However, at various other circuits, we struggled to compete for a place on the podium."
"I prefer to keep discussions to a minimum and instead focus on our performance in the upcoming tests. This will help us understand if we've addressed the balance problems and managed to optimize our use of the tyres. Then, we can evaluate our position."
Wolff has conceded that Mercedes will not be able to completely eliminate their performance inconsistencies in the forthcoming season.
Mercedes achieved a commanding first and second place finish in Las Vegas under cooler weather conditions, a performance that left them puzzled by their own competitive edge. However, in higher temperatures, the team faced evident struggles with their car's performance.
He advised aiming to stay on the favorable side as much as possible, in an interview with the German magazine Auto Motor und Sport.
You begin to identify trends – circuits where your vehicle excels, training runs where you tested your vehicle's limits, tire types that mesh well with your car, and optimal track temperatures for your vehicle's performance.
"He expressed his hope that throughout the winter, they would come to the correct conclusions and make the necessary adjustments to the development strategy for the 2025 vehicle."
"It's impossible to entirely eliminate these variations. They will persist into next year across all teams."

Lewis Hamilton Finds His Groove with Ferrari: Positive Vibes and a Homey Feeling After Latest Test
Lewis Hamilton expresses a cheerful "feeling at home" sentiment following his recent test with Ferrari
It seems Lewis Hamilton is thoroughly enjoying his time with Ferrari.
Lewis Hamilton remains upbeat following his most recent testing session with Ferrari.
Earlier this week in Barcelona, the seven-time world champion had the opportunity to test drive Ferrari's 2024 Formula 1 car during a tyre testing event hosted by Pirelli.
This signifies a further phase in Hamilton's readiness for the upcoming season, set to begin in Melbourne on March 16.
Hamilton has had a packed schedule recently, marking his debut visit to Maranello earlier in January.
Since that time, Hamilton has devoted considerable hours to driving a Ferrari, familiarizing himself with his new team's operations.
Hamilton's sole setback recently occurred during his TPC session in Barcelona last week, where he experienced a crash while operating the SF-23.
Nonetheless, spirits within the camp seem to be soaring.
Despite his brief tenure with Ferrari, Hamilton conveyed an optimistic message to his supporters through his Instagram profile.
On Thursday afternoon, Hamilton shared a video montage capturing his initial weeks with Ferrari, accompanied by a caption that read: "Feeling perfectly at ease."
Check out this Instagram post from Lewis Hamilton (@lewishamilton).
What lies ahead for Hamilton?
Following the conclusion of the Pirelli 2026 tyre evaluation, Hamilton is anticipated to make his next appearance on the track for Ferrari on February 19.
Ferrari is set to unveil their new Formula 1 car for the 2025 season, the SF-25, with drivers Hamilton and Charles Leclerc scheduled to debut the vehicle at the Fiorano circuit.
All 10 squads will converge at London's O2 Arena one day prior to Ferrari's unveiling for the official kick-off of the F1 season.
It is anticipated that teams will reveal their color schemes instead of the actual vehicles for the 2025 season.
For Hamilton, this event marks a significant moment, with a large number of British supporters expected to witness him donning the red colors for their first time.
Following the vehicle's unveiling on February 19, focus will immediately shift to the pre-season trials in Bahrain.
F1's pre-season trials are scheduled for February 26-28, during which Hamilton and Leclerc will each take turns over the three-day period at the Bahrain International Circuit.

Lewis Hamilton ‘Right at Home’ in Ferrari Red: Exudes Positivity Ahead of 2025 F1 Season
Lewis Hamilton shares an optimistic "feeling at home" sentiment following his recent Ferrari trial. It seems that Hamilton is thoroughly enjoying his experience with Ferrari.
Lewis Hamilton remains optimistic following his recent week of testing with Ferrari.
Earlier this week in Barcelona, the seven-time world champion had the opportunity to get behind the wheel of Ferrari's 2024 Formula 1 car during a Pirelli tire test.
This signifies another phase in Hamilton's readiness for the upcoming season that begins in Melbourne on March 16.
In recent weeks, Hamilton has had a hectic schedule, highlighted by his initial visit to Maranello in January.
Since that point, Hamilton has dedicated considerable time driving a Ferrari to familiarize himself with his new team.
Hamilton's sole setback to date occurred when he collided while driving the SF-23 in Barcelona last week during his TPC event.
The atmosphere in the camp seems to be extremely positive.
Although his tenure with Ferrari was brief, Hamilton conveyed an optimistic note to his supporters through his Instagram profile.
On Thursday afternoon, Hamilton shared a video montage depicting his initial weeks with Ferrari, accompanied by a caption that read: "Feeling right at home."
Check out this Instagram post by Lewis Hamilton (@lewishamilton), where he shares updates and moments with his followers.
What lies ahead for Hamilton?
Following the conclusion of the Pirelli 2026 tire test, Hamilton is anticipated to return to the track with Ferrari on February 19.
Ferrari is set to unveil its 2025 Formula 1 car, the SF-25, with drivers Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc scheduled to debut it on the track at Fiorano.
All ten teams are set to convene at the O2 in London a day prior to Ferrari's presentation for the official launch of the F1 season.
Squads are anticipated to reveal their paint schemes instead of their real vehicles for the 2025 season.
For Hamilton, the event is set to be quite momentous, as a large segment of the crowd is expected to be British supporters witnessing him in red for the inaugural time.
Once the car is unveiled on February 19, the focus will swiftly shift to pre-season testing in Bahrain.
Pre-season testing for Formula 1 is scheduled for February 26-28, featuring Hamilton and Leclerc alternating on the track over the three-day period at the Bahrain International Circuit.

Toto Wolff Exercises Caution as Mercedes Prepares for 2025 F1 Season Amid Performance Fluctuations
Toto Wolff chooses to remain silent regarding Mercedes' prospects for the 2025 F1 season. The head of Mercedes, Toto Wolff, is being reserved when discussing the team's potential performance in F1 2025.
Toto Wolff expressed that he prefers to avoid discussing Mercedes' prospects for the 2025 F1 season in detail.
Mercedes aims to deliver a steadier performance in 2025 following a disappointing season the previous year.
Despite securing victories in four races, the Silver Arrows team found themselves bewildered by the unpredictable performance fluctuations of their W15 car, ultimately placing fourth in the constructors’ championship.
With Lewis Hamilton no longer part of the team, George Russell is now paired with the promising young driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli. Team principal Wolff is cautious about overhyping Mercedes.
Wolff prefers to observe the performance of the team's W16 car during pre-season testing in Bahrain later this month.
According to RacingNews365, Wolff mentioned that finding the optimal performance with these vehicles is quite challenging, and they have only managed to achieve it a handful of times.
"We were extremely dominant in Las Vegas, where we secured the top two positions, but at other circuits, we couldn't compete for a spot on the podium."
"I prefer to keep quiet for now and wait to see how we perform in the tests. That will show us if we've addressed the balance problems, figured out the tire situation, and then we'll know more."
Wolff has acknowledged that Mercedes won't be able to completely eliminate their performance inconsistencies in the next season.
Mercedes achieved an impressive first and second place finish in Las Vegas, where the event occurred under cooler weather. However, the team was puzzled by how competitive they were. In contrast, when racing in warmer conditions, a significant flaw in the car's performance became apparent.
He mentioned to the German magazine Auto Motor und Sport that the key is to stay on the favorable side as frequently as you can.
"You begin to identify connections, such as circuits where your vehicle performs well, practice runs where you tested your car's limits, tire types that blend well with your car, and optimal track temperatures for the vehicle’s performance."
He expressed his wish that the lessons learned during the winter would lead to a reassessment and modification of the development strategy for the 2025 vehicle.
"It will not be possible to eliminate these variations entirely. All teams are expected to experience them again in the coming year."
