Verstappen’s Blistering Rebuke to Critics After Hungarian GP: “They Can All F*** Off
"Everyone can go to hell" – Max Verstappen's harsh comeback to F1 detractors.
Following a lackluster performance at the Hungarian Grand Prix, Max Verstappen fiercely retaliates against his detractors, according to Lewis Larkam in Budapest.
Max Verstappen delivered a blunt message to his detractors, instructing them to “f*** off” following the Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix.
The current world champion experienced a disappointing race in Budapest, ending in fifth place following a late crash with former championship adversary Lewis Hamilton as they battled for the last spot on the podium.
Verstappen expressed dissatisfaction with his vehicle and also aired his grievances regarding Red Bull's tactics through a number of sharp exchanges over the team radio during the 70-lap race on Sunday.
When Verstappen was confronted with the notion that some individuals believed he had overstepped the mark with his anger in Hungary, the Dutch driver sharply retorted, "I observe numerous remarks from individuals who believe ‘you are overly frustrated, your remarks were excessive, that you show disrespect towards the team’.
"They can all go away."
Verstappen, who had previously faced backlash for his collision with McLaren's Lando Norris during the Austrian Grand Prix, implied that Hamilton was at fault for their crash towards the end of the race.
"I received a lot of criticism in Austria with individuals commenting on moving while braking, and so on," he stated. "I am placing my car with the first maneuver and then maintaining a straight path.
Today, while decelerating, he continually veered to the right, which is why I ended up locking the brakes since I was making a maneuver. However, I noticed the car on the outer side continued to approach me.
"Otherwise, we would have met with an accident earlier. I needed to halt the vehicle, which is why I applied the brakes forcefully."
When questioned about what frustrated him more, Red Bull's game plan or his dissatisfaction with the vehicle, Verstappen responded, "The strategy for today's race was the bigger issue for me. I was aware it was going to be a challenging race and that outperforming McLaren would be hard."
"However, securing at least a P3 position proved to be challenging in itself."
"I need to discuss this with the team. Perhaps they weren't aware that following was such a challenge."
