Trackhouse Navigates Rider Market Uncertainty: A Deep Dive into 2025 MotoGP Line-Up Strategies
Trackhouse clarifies rumors about acquiring Jack Miller or Joe Roberts
"Managers reach out to me, though their frequency is diminishing with each passing day!"
Trackhouse has provided a glimpse into their negotiations and plans for next season's lineup of riders.
The contracts of Raul Fernandez and Miguel Oliveira are coming to an end, leaving the future rider roster for the American-supported, newly named MotoGP team unclear for the 2025 season.
It is understood that Fernandez is nearing a final agreement with the team regarding a renewed contract.
However, Trackhouse is exploring various possibilities by engaging in discussions with other available racers, specifically Jack Miller.
Head manager Davide Brivio mentioned in a conversation with TNT Sports regarding the retention of Fernandez and Oliveira for the 2025 season: "Our main focus is to engage in discussions with both riders. The truth of the matter is that our relationship with Raul is notably strong.
"He's content to remain with us, and we're pleased to have him. We believe he holds tremendous promise. This journey we've embarked on together has been successful."
"We're also in discussions with Miguel. He has alternative choices."
"We're exploring the right equilibrium to ensure he's content to remain. Efforts are underway towards this goal."
This season's makeover of the team, marking them as the first U.S. team in more than ten years, has sparked rumors that they might be looking to introduce an American rider into MotoGP.
Joe Roberts stands out as a formidable contender. Presently, he ranks third in the Moto2 standings and has confirmed that multiple MotoGP teams have shown interest in him for the 2025 season.
"Brivio elucidated that considering other riders as alternatives may serve as Plan B or Plan C, should reaching a satisfactory deal with Miguel prove challenging."
"It's commonly understood that the options in the market are straightforward. You have the choice of a single experienced rider, or alternatively, you're looking at newcomers."
Interest from team leaders 'diminishing'
Miller seeks to join another squad following his exit from KTM.
"Indeed, we are in discussions with Jack," confirmed Brivio.
"Managers have been reaching out to me, but the frequency of their calls has been on a decline."
"That's the process, there's no secrecy involved. When you receive a call, you're aware of who's accessible, and the conversation continues."
"This is how it operates for team managers and riders. I'm convinced Miguel and Jack are in discussions with multiple teams; that's just how it plays out!"
Trackhouse experienced their most successful day of the MotoGP season this past Saturday in Germany.
Oliveira secured the second spot on the grid, while Fernandez took the third position for the German MotoGP race. Following this, Oliveira achieved a podium position, marking his team's inaugural podium of the 2024 season in the sprint event.
This recognition came as a result of the efforts Brivio had put in since he joined at the beginning of the year.
Before his current involvement, he had collaborated with Suzuki in the MotoGP circuit, guiding Joan Mir to secure the 2020 championship title. However, his recent engagements have been in the Formula 1
Brivio stated, "I've only just got here. We're in the process of creating something, putting the team together.
Navigating the market is a complex endeavor. Our aim is to foster a positive environment and maintain unity, particularly with Raul and Miguel at the forefront.
"We aim to foster an environment that encourages perseverance, continuous effort, and resilience."
