Following closely after the previous weekend's Emilia Romagna event, the international leg of the 2024 MotoGP World Championship begins with the Indonesian Grand Prix in Mandalika.
In the final lap at Misano, Jorge Martin was surpassed by Enea Bastianini, missing out on the win. However, Francesco Bagnaia faced his seventh non-finish of the season, providing the Pramac competitor with a 24-point advantage in the championship race over the current title holder.
As the last seven races commence, Bastianini occupies the third spot in the world championship standings, trailing Martin by 59 points and narrowly leading Marc Marquez, who is set to replace him in 2025, by a

The first practice session (FP1) kicks off at 10:45 am local time, equivalent to 3:45 am BST. Following this, the Practice session that determines the ten riders who will directly proceed to Qualifying 2 starts at 3 pm local time, or 8 am BST.

Bastianini has moved to the forefront of the leaderboard, clocking in at 1 minute and 29.639 seconds.
Bagnaia climbs to ninth place, yet remains 0.578 seconds behind the championship frontrunner, Martin, with slightly less than 10 minutes remaining.

Martin is leading the field by a margin of 0.3 seconds, while Bagnaia's most recent lap time places him in 10th position.
Martin shattered the lap record on his second attempt, clocking in at 1 minute and 29.670 seconds!
This has been the highlight of the day up to this point. There's a strong sense that the lap record might be broken just before the race ends, which is in less than 13 minutes.
Martin secures the lead with a lap time of 1 minute and 30.317 seconds during his initial fast lap in this segment of the session.
Espargaro experienced another fall at Turn 16, but he's alright and has returned to the pit lane.
The competition is incredibly close. The leading 10 riders are within a mere 0.288 seconds of each other, and the gap between the top 17 is just 0.956 seconds.
