Nina Hospitality Eyes UK, Singapore Expansion as Hong Kong Market Rebounds: A Strategy Fueled by Rebranding and Real Estate Acquisitions
Nina Hospitality, a branch of Chinachem, is considering opportunities in the UK and Singapore as Hong Kong's economy recovers. The managing director of Nina indicated that they are exploring expansion opportunities domestically and internationally, with a goal of becoming a luxury hotel chain in Hong Kong.
The organization is establishing this objective in the wake of a 2021 image overhaul, led by its newly appointed Managing Director, Simon Manning, who became part of the company in the same year.
"In the immediate future, we aim to establish ourselves as a top-tier hospitality group in Hong Kong," Manning conveyed during a discussion with the Post. "However, adhering to the investment guidelines of our parent organization, and considering more conventional property purchases, we believe this is a logical step. This is because these territories share comparable tax, employment, and population characteristics to our domestic market."
The company has the potential to expand into fresh markets either by implementing a management agreement that exposes Nina to a broader demographic, or through the purchase of an already established entity.
In the local area, at least HK$240 million (US$31 million) will be invested to introduce new amenities and renovate current ones, such as the primary and sky lobbies in its premier hotel, Nina Hotel Tsuen Wan West.
