MiniMax Unveils Video-01: A Revolutionary Text-to-Video Model to Rival OpenAI’s Sora, Paving the Way for Image-Based Video Generation
The Chinese AI powerhouse, MiniMax, has introduced a text-to-video generation model to compete with OpenAI's Sora. The first version, Video-01, is reminiscent of Sora, and the company anticipates future improvements that will allow users to create videos from images.
Video-01 provides the functionality for users to enter a textual description and generate a video of up to six seconds long. The entire procedure, from submitting the text cue to producing the video, approximately takes two minutes.
During the event, Yan Junjie, the CEO and founder of MiniMax, announced that video-01 is the company's initial version of their video creation software. He highlighted that forthcoming enhancements will allow users to create videos from photos and edit them, as reported by local news outlets.
