**Marc Marquez Stands Firm: No Advice for Rival Jorge Martin in MotoGP Title Battle**
Marc Marquez refrains from advising Jorge Martin in the MotoGP championship battle
"I'm not offering guidance to competitors"
Marc Marquez stated that he has no intention of offering any guidance to Jorge Martin in his pursuit of the 2024 MotoGP championship.
Heading into the Indonesian Grand Prix at Mandalika this weekend, Martin holds a 24-point lead in the championship, having secured second place at the Emilia Romagna GP last week.
After his lead over Francesco Bagnaia dwindled to only four points following the Misano sprint, Bagnaia's crash increased the Pramac rider's lead.
With six rounds left in the season, the top four competitors are separated by just sixty points. Marquez, who is currently in fourth place, has openly stated that he does not consider himself a major contender for the championship.
When questioned about handling the stress of competing for a championship at this point in the season, the Gresini racer was reported by Motorsport as saying, "In my view, I've already met my goals for this year."
"Therefore, continuing to take pleasure in it will be essential."
In the final part of last season, Marquez supported Martin's bid for the championship, noting that Martin, as a rider for the Pramac satellite team, faced no pressure of high expectations.
When questioned during the press conference in his Spanish briefing at Mandalika about any advice he might offer to Martin, Marquez stated that his compatriot must handle things independently.
“I don’t plan to offer him any suggestions,” Marquez remarked.
"In your opinion, I'm still battling on."
"I won't be offering any guidance to competitors currently racing or to those I may face in the future."
"I'm not focusing on winning the championship this year, but Martin is a competitor now and will continue to be one in the future."
"Why would I offer guidance to my competitor? I'd rather share it with my sibling and leave it at that."
Marquez has yet to complete a grand prix at Mandalika, as he suffered a serious crash during the 2022 warm-up and dropped out of the race in 2023.
However, his goal for this weekend in Indonesia is to secure a spot within the top five on his GP23.
The Gresini rider commented that it would be intriguing to see their current position.
"Indeed, last year… I wasn’t able to complete a race in Indonesia due to a significant crash during the warm-up session in 2022."
"It's crucial to recognize our current standing, and our goal is to secure a place in the top four or top five once more."
"It's a circuit I enjoy. While it's not among my top favorites, I do have a fondness for it. My performance there has been average, not exceptional. I'm eager to see how it feels with the Ducati."
