Lewis Hamilton Honors Daniel Ricciardo’s F1 Journey: A Tribute Filled with Laughter, Legacy, and a ‘Gross’ But Memorable Shoey
Lewis Hamilton Reacts to Daniel Ricciardo's F1 Departure with a "Disgusting" Yet Amusing Anecdote
Lewis Hamilton has shared his thoughts on Daniel Ricciardo's exit from Formula 1 through an online post.
Lewis Hamilton expressed that competing alongside Daniel Ricciardo was a privilege, following the confirmation of Ricciardo's departure from Formula 1.
On Thursday, RB confirmed that for the last six races of the 2024 F1 season, Daniel Ricciardo will be succeeded by Liam Lawson, Red Bull's reserve driver.
The Singapore Grand Prix seems to mark the last Formula 1 race for the 35-year-old Australian racer, who has secured eight wins in 257 Grand Prix races over 14 seasons.
Seven-time world champion Hamilton was among those who praised the former Red Bull driver, Ricciardo, along with other competitors.
"Competing alongside you has truly been a privilege," Hamilton expressed on Instagram. "The fights, the fun, and the experience of sipping from your shoe are unforgettable. It was disgusting, but I'm happy it was with you, my friend.
"Your legacy is one of unwavering authenticity, a rare feat in this sport. You've faced everything with an ever-present smile, and for that, you have my utmost respect."
"There's a lot more in store for you, and I'm eager to witness your next steps. I'm always here to support you, buddy."

Red Bull's team leader, Christian Horner, characterized Ricciardo as significantly more than merely a racer.
"Right from your arrival at Red Bull, it was clear that you were far more than merely a driver," he penned.
"Your unwavering zest, wit, and outlook will create a lasting imprint on the Team in Milton Keynes and the entire F1 community. We are grateful for the victories, laughter, melodies (and if only I could add the shoeys), you'll forever hold a unique place in the heart of the Red Bull Family."
"With 8 victories, 32 top-three finishes, and a total of 1329 points, your accomplishments extend far beyond these remarkable figures. We are grateful for everything, Daniel."
Ex-teammate at Red Bull and good friend, Max Verstappen, responded to Ricciardo's Instagram post, saying, "Keep your chin up, buddy! There are still plenty of great times ahead."
