Jorge Martin dominates the competition to secure the pole spot for the 2024 Indonesian MotoGP at Mandalika, outpacing his closest competitors by more than half a second.
The person leading the championship will share the front line of the starting grid with Marco Bezzecchi, who experienced a fall shortly before the race ended, and newcomer Pedro Acosta.
Francesco Bagnaia, Martin's main competitor, alongside his Ducati team colleague Enea Bastianini and Fabio Quartararo from Yamaha, will occupy the second row.
During the initial lap, both Marc Marquez and Enea Bastianini experienced crashes, leading to the deployment of yellow flags. Consequently, this meant that both Bagnaia and Franco Morbidelli entered the final lap without having recorded a lap time.
Marquez experienced his initial tumble while in pursuit of Jorge Martin, and then, in a distressing turn of events, suffered another crash attempting to keep pace with Bagnaia, ultimately finishing in 12th place.
Miguel Oliveira is missing in action due to a broken right wrist, a result of a highside accident on Friday morning.
