**”Jorge Martin Braces for Major Adjustment with Aprilia: Insights on ‘DNA’ and Weak Points”**
Jorge Martin cautioned about the inherent 'flaw' in Aprilia's design.
Jorge Martin alerted about the 'vulnerability' of the Aprilia.
Jorge Martin has been advised that he needs to adapt to a new 'DNA' upon transitioning to Aprilia.
Pramac rider Martin could potentially transfer the #1 plate from Ducati to Aprilia in the coming year.
After not being selected for a promotion to the factory Ducati team, he decided to join their Italian competitors.
However, he will face a significant change.
Present Aprilia racer Maverick Vinales drew a parallel: "[Ducati] navigate the corners using fewer meters.
"One distinguishing feature of our bicycle is the need for a smoother ride."
"They are more precise. In a 180-degree turn, you fully reverse direction, and that creates a distinct change."
"It seems like the problem is with acceleration, but the real issue is losing distance to the corner. That's where we're struggling."
Neil Hodgson from TNT Sports commented: "Excellent depiction. He has a top-down perspective, engaging in an entire race fighting against Ducatis. It’s a challenging situation for the Aprilia racers."
"With a Ducati, you can take a more aggressive approach, allowing you to enter corners more quickly and shave off valuable time."
“Surprisingly, the Ducati handles corners effectively. Historically, this has been its major weakness.”
"When you reach the crucial part of the corner, it takes a sharper turn, and then you accelerate out of it."
"[Vinales] needs to take wider arcs, which prevents him from braking as late."
"You have to maneuver around, but then a Ducati that's just a bit quicker blocks you in the middle of the turn."
"He’s struggling with the fact that you ride more on the edge of the tire with the Aprilia."
Sylvain Guintoli responded by saying, “This characteristic is inherent to the bike. It behaves this way on every track.”
"On certain circuits, it provides a benefit. The Aprilia performs exceptionally well on extended turns."
"The start-and-stop maneuver? Ducati excels at it."
Martin, racing on the GP24 Ducati this year, dropped to second place in the MotoGP championship last weekend at the Sachsenring after losing the lead in the grand prix due to a fall.
He trails the new leader and current champion, Pecco Bagnaia, by 10 points.
