Jack Miller Addresses Intense Last-Lap Clash with Johann Zarco Amidst Controversial Emilia-Romagna MotoGP
Jack Miller provides his opinion on the final lap duel with Johann Zarco in Misano
Jack Miller and Johann Zarco fiercely competed for position
Enea Bastianini overtaking Jorge Martin was not the sole controversial incident during the Emilia-Romagna MotoGP race.
Jack Miller and Johann Zarco had a confrontation in a similar manner, also occurring on the final lap at Misano.
Johann Zarco of LCR Honda passed KTM's Jack Miller in their fight for 15th place.
Bastianini's victorious move against Martin captured everyone's focus, and the MotoGP stewards did not find it necessary to review it.
Both Martin and Marc Marquez asserted that Bastianini's aggressive maneuver was inappropriate.
However, Miller maintains that neither Bastianini and Martin’s altercation nor his own confrontation with Zarco involved any misconduct.
According to Speedweek, Miller described the event as a straightforward racing scenario, highlighting it was the final lap and a competitive struggle.
"Take a look at Zarco's move against me in Turn 14 on the final lap or Diggia's maneuver in the same turn – that's what racing is all about!"
"The issue with these bicycles is that passing another rider without making contact is impossible."
"Unless you rig your bike in a way that lets you recklessly brake while entering corners. It's fortunate that both riders managed to remain on their bikes."
Starting from 19th position, Miller managed to advance eight places during the Emilia Romagna MotoGP.
However, Joan Mir and Luca Marini, both riding factory Hondas, overtook Miller, and soon after, Zarco, also on a Honda, passed him as well.
Miller's difficulties with the KTM are set to wrap up by the end of 2024, and he played a minor role in the Misano test regarding advancements for the upcoming year.
However, Miller managed to verify last weekend that he has secured a new place to live for the upcoming season.
He is set to team up with Miguel Oliveira for the newly established Pramac Yamaha initiative.
Until that time, Miller will primarily be focused on the challenges he faces with the KTM.
