Huawei Aims to Amplify EV Shift with More Partnerships in Smart-Vehicle Supply Chain: A Strategic Move Towards Electrification and Digitalisation
Huawei is actively looking for additional collaborators in its smart-vehicle supply chain department to aid in the shift to electric vehicles. Huawei intends to refine its reputation as a provider, instead of a car manufacturer, to assist China in its movement towards digitalization and electrification, according to Chairman Eric Xu.
The telecommunications gear producer is welcoming external investors to assist in transforming its division, Shenzhen Yinwang Intelligent Technology, into an open-source platform for the creation of new Electric Vehicle (EV) technologies, as stated by its Chairman Eric Xu Zhijun, according to the government-controlled news outlet's Friday report.
"Xu stated that they would persist in attracting key investors and are open to stakeholders in the EV industry investing in Yinwang," as per the report. "Innovative technologies and unique driving experiences will prevent needless fierce competition within the industry." He refrained from providing further details about the investment strategy.
Huawei aims to refine its reputation as a provider, not just a manufacturer, to facilitate the sector's shift to electric and digital platforms, he further mentioned. The company intends to assist its potential collaborators in reducing development expenses, speeding up the introduction of new models, and enhancing the effectiveness of testing intelligent driving systems.
Huawei didn't promptly reply to the Post's inquiries regarding Xu's comments.
