Honor Dethrones Samsung to Dominate Western Europe’s Foldable Smartphone Market
Honor surpasses Samsung to secure the leading position in Western Europe's foldable smartphone market. This Huawei subsidiary has achieved this feat for the first time in Western Europe, which is the second biggest market for foldable handsets following China.
Honor, a smartphone company from China, has outpaced Samsung Electronics to emerge as the leading producer of foldable phones in Western Europe, as per the information from the market research firm, Counterpoint Research.
Honor, a subsidiary of Huawei Technologies, has emerged as the leader in the second quarter for the first time. After China, Western Europe is the next biggest market for foldable phones, witnessing intense competition among major players like Motorola, Oppo, OnePlus, and Google, as per the latest report by Counterpoint.
Honor, the company that introduced its sought-after book-style Magic V2 globally last September, experienced a 455% increase in its worldwide foldable shipments in the second quarter, marking the highest annual growth compared to other brands, according to the report.
Worldwide, Honor's local competitor Huawei has maintained its position as the leading brand in the foldable-phone sector for two quarters in a row, largely due to its impressive performance in the Chinese market, as per a separate report by Counterpoint.
