Honor Dethrones Samsung: The New Leader in Western Europe’s Foldable Smartphone Market
Honor surpasses Samsung to become the leading brand in West Europe's foldable smartphone market. For the first time, the brand that originated from Huawei claimed this title in Western Europe, which is the second biggest market for foldable phones after China.
Honor, a smartphone company from China, has outperformed Samsung Electronics, becoming the leading manufacturer of foldable smartphones in Western Europe, as per information from Counterpoint Research, a market analysis firm.
Honor, a subsidiary of Huawei Technologies, emerged as the leader for the first time in the second quarter. According to a recent Counterpoint report, Western Europe, which is the second-biggest market for foldable phones after China, is a highly competitive arena for companies such as Motorola, Oppo, OnePlus, and Google.
Honor, the company that introduced its widely accepted book-like Magic V2 globally last September, experienced a 455 per cent increase in its worldwide foldable deliveries in the second quarter. This is the most significant annual growth recorded among all brands, according to the report.
Worldwide, Honor's local competitor Huawei sustained its position as the leading brand for foldable phones for two successive quarters, primarily due to its robust performance in the Chinese market, as per a separate report from Counterpoint.
