Honor Dethrones Samsung: Emerges as Top Foldable Smartphone Brand in Western Europe
Honor surpasses Samsung to become the leader in Western Europe's foldable smartphone market. For the first time, the company, which separated from Huawei, achieved this milestone in Western Europe, the second biggest market for foldable phones after China.
Honor, a smartphone company from China, has outperformed Samsung Electronics, taking the top spot as the leading manufacturer of foldable phones in Western Europe, as per the statistics provided by Counterpoint Research, a market research company.
Honor, a subsidiary of Huawei Technologies, claimed the top spot for the first time in the second quarter. Western Europe, the second-largest market for foldable phones after China, is a hotly contested area for competitors such as Motorola, Oppo, OnePlus, and Google, as per a recent report from Counterpoint.
Honor, having introduced its widely-liked book-style Magic V2 internationally last September, experienced a 455 per cent increase in its worldwide foldable deliveries during the second quarter. This was the most significant annual growth observed across all brands, according to the report.
Worldwide, Honor's local competitor Huawei has maintained its position as the leading brand in the foldable-phone market for the second quarter in a row, driven by its robust sales in China, as per a separate report from Counterpoint.
