Honor Dethrones Samsung: Claims Top Spot in Western Europe’s Foldable Smartphone Market
Honor surpasses Samsung to become the leading brand in Western Europe's foldable smartphone market. The offshoot of Huawei has grabbed this position for the first time in Western Europe, which is the second biggest market for foldable phones following China.
Honor, a smartphone brand from China, has outperformed Samsung Electronics, becoming the leading manufacturer of foldable devices in Western Europe, as per data from the industry consulting firm, Counterpoint Research.
Honor, a subsidiary of Huawei Technologies, has topped the charts for the first time in the second quarter. The second biggest market for foldable phones after China is Western Europe, which is also a highly competitive field for companies like Motorola, Oppo, OnePlus, and Google, as stated in a recent report by Counterpoint.
Honor, which introduced its well-liked book-style Magic V2 globally last September, experienced a 455 per cent increase in its worldwide foldable deliveries in the second quarter, marking the biggest annual growth compared to all other brands, according to the report.
Across the world, Honor's local competitor Huawei maintained its position as the top brand for foldable mobile devices for the second quarter in a row, largely due to its impressive performance in China, as per a different report from Counterpoint.
