Great Wall Motors defies expectations: Wey 03 SUV to introduce gasoline and full-hybrid options by 2025
Chinese car manufacturer GWM Wey plans to introduce gasoline and full hybrid versions of their SUV, the Wey 03, from 2025 onwards. Contrary to the belief that China exports only electric vehicles, there appears to be a shift in the offerings from Chinese automakers. This change could be in response to potential EU tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles, prompting more brands to include combustion engine models in their line-ups.
Among the brands to mention is MG, which showcases vehicles such as the MG3, the new ZS, and HS models. Similarly, GWM is expanding its lineup: Starting in 2025, the Wey 03 will go beyond the current plug-in hybrid option. That year, the engine options for the large SUV will grow to include new gasoline and full hybrid systems. However, specific details have yet to be disclosed, with only this scant information available so far.
