Geely’s Zeekr 7X: The Midsize Electric SUV Aiming to Rival Tesla’s Model Y with Two High-Range Battery Options
Geely is banking on its Zeekr 7X medium-sized SUV to rival Tesla's top-selling Model Y. The car manufacturer announced that the Zeekr 7X will be available in two battery variants, enabling the vehicle to cover distances of either 605km or 780km on a single charge.
The moderately-sized, all-electric SUV, dubbed the Zeekr 7X, will serve as the fifth production model for a business that saw a 66-percent increase in deliveries during the second quarter.
The car, unveiled at the Chengdu Auto Show last Friday, will be available in a right-hand drive model for overseas markets, according to Zeekr. The 7X will come with two different battery choices able to cover distances of either 605km or 780km on a single charge, Zeekr mentioned, though they did not reveal the list prices.
The 7X will be constructed using the Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) platform, which is open-source and was introduced by Geely towards the end of 2020. This platform accommodates various types of electric vehicles, including passenger cars and SUVs as well as commercial vans and trucks.
