The US Federal Trade Commission criticizes Meta, TikTok, and Twitch for their 'grossly insufficient' data policies. The FTC report also pointed out YouTube, social media platform X, Snap, Discord, and Reddit for their data policies.
The US Federal Trade Commission revealed in a report on Thursday that social media corporations gather, distribute, and handle a large amount of user data. It criticized these firms for their lack of transparency and user control, particularly regarding the use of this data in systems that utilize artificial intelligence.
Discord, a communication service provider, stated that the study inaccurately grouped various business models together. Also, they clarified that they didn't provide any advertising services when the research took place.
