**”Fernando Alonso Calls for Immediate Improvements Amid Aston Martin’s Challenging Season, Despite Future Optimism”**
Fernando Alonso candidly admits, "We can't conceal our performance deficit," acknowledging, "We've been falling behind a bit compared to the leading teams."
Fernando Alonso acknowledges that Aston Martin is currently facing challenges and advises against shifting their attention to 2025 at this time.
The prospects for Lawrence Stroll’s Formula 1 team are promising and thrilling, especially with the announcement that Adrian Newey has joined as a shareholder and the leading technical partner.
Aston Martin’s latest establishment at Silverstone, along with their proprietary wind tunnel and a collaboration with Honda, indicate numerous reasons for optimism.
However, they are going through a tough year.
Alonso secured eighth place at the F1 Singapore Grand Prix, following a sixth-place finish in Azerbaijan.
It is evident that McLaren, Red Bull, Ferrari, and Mercedes possess quicker vehicles.
Alonso mentioned that finishing in eighth place was a better outcome than they had anticipated upon arriving in Singapore.
"The qualifying results were certainly promising. Starting from P7, we hoped to finish in P8 or P9, and in the end, we accomplished that goal."
"The team executed a solid strategy – we were trailing Nico Hulkenberg, but by performing an undercut on Lap 23, we successfully overtook him. In the end, I believe finishing eighth was the best possible outcome."
“We now have a brief pause before the Austin event, during which we need to enhance the car's performance.
“We've been falling behind the leading teams and are currently positioned in the middle of the pack. Our goal is to turn this around.”
Alonso emphasized that it is essential for Aston Martin to continue developing their performance in the remaining six races of this season, instead of shifting all their attention to the next year.
He mentioned that in the previous two street circuits, they performed well during the qualifying rounds. However, overtaking during the races proved to be challenging, so they maintained their positions throughout the race.
“However, this does not conceal the recent underperformance observed in the latest events.
"We are aware of the situation, and our team is working tirelessly."
"When the car is functioning well, we aim to earn points. Even when we face difficulties, we still manage to score because the team is doing its job while being conscious of the challenges."
