F1 Fans Hopeful as Circuit of the Americas Chief Invites Daniel Ricciardo to United States GP
Head of US Grand Prix 'optimistic' about Daniel Ricciardo's potential presence in Austin
Is there a chance Daniel Ricciardo will show up at the United States Grand Prix?
Bobby Epstein, the head of the Circuit of the Americas for F1, has expressed a willingness to give Daniel Ricciardo tasks to occupy his time if he decides to go to the United States Grand Prix next weekend.
Daniel Ricciardo is no longer racing in Formula 1, as VCARB decided to release him from the team after the Singapore Grand Prix.
It's probable that the recent race in Singapore marked the conclusion of his time in Formula 1, closing the chapter on a successful career.
Even though he faces challenges in delivering strong performances on the track, Ricciardo continues to be among the most beloved drivers in Formula 1.
He gained a significant following in the United States, largely because of the Netflix series "Drive to Survive."
Epstein is eager for Ricciardo to be present at the race, even if he isn't participating as a driver.
According to ESPN, he mentioned that Daniel could potentially influence the grand prix just as significantly from outside the car as he does when driving.
"I'm not certain that fans are purchasing tickets specifically to watch him race if he's not driving a competitive car. However, if they're attending because he's a member of the F1 community, he can still contribute significantly to that community."
"Epstein mentioned that he is very much adored in Texas and seems to enjoy being here."
"I hope he becomes more accessible to the fans than he might be if he had commitments with the car."
"I hope he continues to visit us, as many people are eager to meet him, get his autograph, take pictures, or just catch a glimpse of him in the area."
“We’ll make sure he stays occupied.”
