Sergio Perez unleashed an angry tirade directed at Carlos Sainz following their late collision during the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Formula 1.
Red Bull's Perez and Ferrari's Sainz collided on the second-to-last lap in Baku, crashing into the barrier and bringing their race to an early end.
"What on earth is he doing? Is he out of his mind? Unbelievable," Perez angrily exclaimed over his team radio.
Over the radio, Sainz inquired, "What just occurred? What was that?"
Sainz's engineer inquired if he was alright by asking, "Are you okay?"
He responded, "Yes, but I don't understand…"
Perez initially competed with Ferrari's Charles Leclerc for position.
While Leclerc was keeping Perez at bay, Sainz managed to pass Perez as well.
Perez attempted an inside pass at Turn 2, but collided with Sainz.
The two vehicles became entangled and crashed into the wall, bringing their race to an abrupt halt
They were competing for a spot on the podium, but after their collision, Mercedes' George Russell was handed the position.
McLaren's Oscar Piastri clinched victory in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, finishing ahead of Leclerc.
Perez was on track to achieve a rare finish ahead of his highly regarded teammate, Max Verstappen.
After being passed by Lando Norris, Verstappen ended the race in Baku in a lackluster fifth place.
However, Perez's failure to finish the race deprived him of a strong performance that could have bolstered the confidence of the Red Bull driver, who is currently under significant pressure.
Officials later classified it as an incident inherent to racing.
