Christie’s Unveils Opulent Asia Headquarters in Hong Kong, Reinforcing Commitment to Prestige and Art Sales with Chinese Ceramics and Van Gogh
Christie's extravagant new headquarters in Asia has been launched in Hong Kong, featuring Chinese ceramics and van Gogh pieces for sale. The opulent establishment, occupying four levels within The Henderson, will conduct its inaugural sales on September 26. This move represents an acknowledgment of 'prestige' and a dedication to Hong Kong.
On September 20, 2024, Christie's revealed their luxurious Asian main office located at The Henderson in Central, Hong Kong.
The inauguration occurs slightly more than three years following the announcement by the auction house of its intention to occupy four levels within the distinctive, glass-encased landmark.
The bottom two levels are enormous rooms furnished with electronically adjustable partitions, adaptable illumination systems, and windows that completely filter out all ultraviolet light, while providing expansive panoramas.
The spacious area, devoid of obstructions and boasting high ceilings, enables the auction house to conduct ongoing sales and exhibitions on its own premises. This is a shift from their former approach of having non-stop auctions over two weeks at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai, which were held each spring and autumn.
