Chinese Tech Giant ‘MiniMax’ Unveils Video-01, a Revolutionary Text-to-Video Tool to Challenge OpenAI’s Sora
The Chinese AI powerhouse, MiniMax, has unveiled a text-to-video creation model to challenge OpenAI's Sora. The first version of their tool, named Video-01, closely mirrors Sora's functionality. Future enhancements are anticipated to allow users to create videos from images.
Video-01 allows a user to enter a text description in order to produce a video that can last up to six seconds. The procedure from providing the text instruction to the production of a video usually takes around two minutes.
At the event, Yan Junjie, the founder and CEO of MiniMax, revealed that video-01 is the company's initial version of their video-creating software. He highlighted that upcoming improvements will allow users to create videos using images and also edit them, as reported by local news outlets.
