Chinese AI Powerhouse MiniMax Unveils ‘Video-01’, a Text-to-Video Tool Poised to Rival OpenAI’s Sora
China's AI powerhouse, MiniMax, has unveiled a text-to-video creation model to compete with OpenAI's Sora. Video-01, the company's initial version of a tool similar to Sora, is anticipated to have future enhancements that will allow users to produce videos from pictures.
Video-01 allows a user to insert a textual description to generate a video that lasts no longer than six seconds. The procedure, from providing the text cue to the creation of a video, roughly takes around two minutes.
At the event, Yan Junjie, the CEO and founder of MiniMax, announced that video-01 is the company's inaugural version of their video-creating tool. He indicated that future enhancements will allow users to create videos using images and edit them, as per reports from local news outlets.
