Chinese AI Giant MiniMax Unveils Video-01: A Text-to-Video Tool Designed to Compete with OpenAI’s Sora
The Chinese AI powerhouse, MiniMax, has unveiled a text-to-video generation model, which is set to compete with OpenAI's Sora. Video-01, the initial version of the company's tool akin to Sora, is anticipated to be upgraded in the future, allowing users to create videos from pictures.
Video-01 allows a user to input a text description to produce a video that can last up to six seconds. The entire procedure from the text cue to the creation of a video takes approximately two minutes.
Yan Junjie, the founder and CEO of MiniMax, announced at the event that video-01 is the company's initial version of their video creation tool. He also highlighted that forthcoming upgrades will allow users to create videos from pictures and edit them, as per reports from local news outlets.
